  1. First of all understand wRC+ is a flawed statistic to use in this scenario. It’s a fantastic stat for regular season purposes, but if you have a second baseman that’s got a .780 OPS and that’s good for a 130 wRC+, why do you really care how he stacks up against other 2b in the AL, He’s a .780 OPS bat.. doesn’t count as big bat Did I confuse you again with tough logic??
  2. Jays were a team that benefited in season wins with strong back of the rotation performance and BP depth..which didn’t even factor in. That’s always been the point here. Regular season wins isn’t the best barometer of the more dangerous playoff team Same with their (depth) 7th in baseball wRC+ offense that most pundits knew was sorely lacking
  3. I’ve f***ing ALWAYS said that
  4. Is it beyond your understanding that there will be more than one team that has the goods? Something has to give. If AZ and LAD play to their full potential, LAD wins. But if you’re playing a dangerous team, an untimely slump can do you in. Teams like MIL, TOR, and teams like MIN in years past, you don’t even need to play your best series and you can still probably win
  5. Basically L54 said what I said, and what you heard is that I knew all along AZ was going to the WS, they found a magic pill that made them better than ATL and LAD, and they are the greatest org in baseball
  6. Yeah, I’ve credited Bo for doing his part. Goes for all year really. Wasn’t best he could be, but certainly didn’t hurt team
  7. Not this year, no. Again, I wouldn’t have guessed how bad they’d all be. I’ve always been pro Vlad, Springer, and Bo. Not that Bo was bad, but not what he could be
  8. All I’m suggesting is your better come armed to the playoffs with 3-4 high end bats, a strong 3 man rotation, and 3-4 strong RPs. If not, like the Jays or MiL, you aren’t winning s***. Obviously you can have that, and so can the other teams, something has to give. Someone isn’t going to play well etc There will always be some noise with some hits here and there from “others”
  9. You mad, bro. I’m not mad
  10. The MIL and TOR teams don’t even have a punchers chance.
  11. Actually the unsung heroes are Ginkel and Sewald, this whole postseason really. If there’s one takeaway Philly can make about how they got beat, it’s that Kimbrel f***ed them
  12. It’s actually funny how you guys are mocking, yet you’re not able to make the leap to say that regular season wins wouldn’t be the best way to determine who the better team for a playoff series is, considering you’ll hardly ever see 40% of the SPs
  13. I don’t know how to navigate the board like Spanky to pull receipts
  14. Specifically the drastic drop in wRC+. What I’d like to prove is the good hitters regress negatively at a lesser rate than average, or below average hitters. This would help explain why a lineup like the Jays is bound to perform worse in a playoff environment than a offense that’s top heavy
  15. I had to fight with you guys trying to argue about a suppressed offensive environment. You were all obtuse and defiant to that point, until I found the Fantrax article to back it up. One day, I’m going to take the time to dive into some of my theories.
  16. I feel like my playoff roster construction debate is like 1/10 of a dead horse as the Moreno trade
  17. I prefer to be like the guy on Fantrax that had some curiosities and decided to research them. Except for the part of doing the work that it requires.
  18. Tell everyone else to stop baiting me and I will
  19. Not the case. I wouldn’t have bet AZ against LAD or Philly. Just because I think they have pieces needed for a run, doesn’t mean the teams they’re playing don’t too. Anyways, you guys are so close-minded, you can’t even consider basic concepts like depth is less important to a playoff roster, than a regular season roster. So what’s the point in diving deeper than that. It’s all random chance. Get rid of saber. Let’s gets back to avg and rbi
  20. Too complicated? Maybe I should hire you to dumb down any post I try to make. I’ll send to you to “dummy read”. Sound good?
  21. If Bo were on steroids and was Carroll And Vlad got on a treadmill and got his slg% up to .500 like Walker And They had a guy like Marte… Maybe they’re still playing. Cry Me a River
  22. Pfaadt has given them a good #3SP. I wouldn’t have called it luck if Grayson or Miller did the same for their teams, but they didn’t. AZ has played 11 of 12 games starting their 3 SPs. If you run the season back and let all teams run with that format every 12 games, records would change. Good and bad. AZ would be better. They didn’t get lucky to get past MIL. LAD they got lucky with some of LAD stars doing nothing. LAD’s lack of SP made it so their star hitters had to be do great, otherwise they’d get bounced, as they did. Give them credit for going Mono y Mono with Philly. I didn’t think they’d win. But Philly had good performances from Harper, Turner, Schwarber, Wheeler, etc.. Nola did his 50:50 thing of the regular season. A lesser team like the Bluejays wouldn’t have been able to hang against an opponent if they actually played like they should, when they have players like the Phils do
  23. That’s an inaccurate takeaway. I never revised anything. I objected to his recap was all
  24. You realize Kelly and Gallen were 5th and 7th in ERA? So one could call them aces Their best players were their stars. Ketel, Carroll, Moreno. Is nobody else supposed to get hits?? lol Clearly they weren’t the best team in the league but they had the kind of roster that could make noise. Sometimes those teams still go out in the first round. It’s not about any guaranteed result, just what gets you a better chance to win. Anyways, Rangers were who I wanted to win it all
