  1. Mmm.. could be a miscommunication though. I’m saying the next shoe would drop, which is the GM gets canned. Manager was the first shoe a couple years ago
  2. I’m not talking about inventing the wheel here. The board of libs this year voted to boot him. I think Shapiro is at least starting to feel some pressure on things with the GM. It’s hardly outlandish to suggest the GM gets booted at this point in a different market. He did a good job building a perennial WC contender
  3. He was 1 game late on seeing and feeling Kimbrel
  4. He’s a game changer, sure. But it’s like I’m the Bluejays with a 20% chance of beating ATL in a series, now I add Soto to be more dangerous in the PS and have a 30% chance of beating ATL. So for one season, does it make sense? But I do believe every GM in baseball understands it’s likely they’ll lose the WAR to WAR trade at the end. I don’t think it’s about that. These are billion dollar businesses and there’s a ton that go into these decisions that we aren’t privy to. Not everything can be judged on a nerd calculator, before or after a deal. Sometimes you have to factor an actual calculator into the equation.
  5. Titles mean a lot in terms of job security. You mentioned a lot of names with WS trophies
  6. Especially when BAL and TB seem to be surging ahead, and you can never count out NY and Boston
  7. Well the FO is lucky Toronto is a beta city and culture. A lot of cities and owners aren’t so forgiving about “randomness” of the playoffs… They don’t marvel at all the good moves someone made to make it a playoff team. 4 years ago they came of the scene and were considered a dangerous WC team..ok.. they lost but stage was set.. Starting to next year they were a WS contender that at the least would contend for division.. for 3 straight years it’s been apparent a couple months into the season they would battle for the wild card lives at best. Then when/if they make the post-season, it’s a quick broom. So a lot of major US cities wouldn’t give a s*** about this “body of work” that enabled them to battle for the last playoff spot each year, while having a decent sized payroll
  8. Hmm.. I’m google more on that, thanks. This board is my Reddit
  9. You didn’t read a single comment I made these last few days. Sensationalizing doesn’t equal reading
  10. You don’t want none of this smoke, Spanky. Why don’t you give some attention to those rapidly declining fantasy teams of yours
  11. How do you guys think I’ll do with Adderall? Going to do a prescription starting tomorrow. Maybe I will actually start researching theories.
  12. I’d assume the team trading for him is doing their due diligence on his extension. If it’s a definite no-go, I’m not sure they’d trade for just 1 year.
  13. Yeah you’d think Cronenworth might be part of any deal. Would be wise. You still get a Verdugo guy plus do some dumping
  14. Yeah I get the Betts deal is the benchmark. I forget where Verdugo was on the Pipeline scale. That’s the likely course, no doubt
  15. No chance it’ll ever happen, I’m just commenting I could see the reasoning
  16. Doesn’t seem too crazy. Vlad you get two years instead of 1. You’re looking at a much less crazy extension at this point you’d think. Soto wants 10/450 with another good season. Vlad- 1b Kim- 2b Bogey- SS Machado- 3b
  17. So you think I’m out of this world. Thanks, man. As soon as I can think of something good to say about you, I’ll return the favor:)
  18. Vlad is an interesting argument is he would classify as a “big bat going in” wRC+ of course gives me the league adjustment bonus for the AL, which really counts so much bc Seager, Judge, Ohtani, Alvarez Tucker etc dont seem to have an issue. The other benefit to to his wRC+ is the park factor. Which seems to check out. The flaw I said on wRC+ is if Vlads home OPS was higher than his road OPS, he would still get a positive adjustment. But in Vlads case, it’s a textbook case of park factor as he’s a .850+ bat on the road. So one could argue with these nerd stats that he was a big bat going in. However…. People like Term don’t get to have their cake and eat it too… I’m pretty sure he’s joined in on the chorus of Vlad is a fatty and a disappointment. Have to pick a side.
  19. He had a good run of time playing and he was garbage. Glad I’ve sold my shares and wouldn’t go back
  20. Hmm.. I didn’t ask anyone. I think they’d all be more receptive.
  21. I was right you were wrong last time. So I learned nothing. This time I’m not correct
  22. Hasn’t been decided. Possibly Madrid. I have a potential wife option in Colombia, but she has a kid, mulling in that. It’s a 2yo boy and if he’s Hispanic, he may be naturally good at baseball and that’s a plus
  23. Ok. I’m done for tonight. Going to plan my next trip
  24. Hmm.. ok I’m wrong, but I’m not supposed to know better than you:P That’s a pretty harsh park factor taking .830 OPS down to 120 wRC+. I think, idk. Just seems it would be higher
  25. In the flip side, Christian Walker plays in NL against Olson, Freeman, etc.. why would you penalize him for that lol. His OPS is what counts
