  1. I do hear what you mean. I wouldn't be looking to move SP depth for a rental. But Kendrick would be core piece until after 2015 season. We know what he is. We really don't know what Lawrie is yet. We still have a handful of guys that can compete for that #4 and #5 spot next year.. not to mention if the Jays win this year, it may be more likely they look to add a solid backend SP in FA.
  2. Lol.. You're serious?
  3. I was thinking of Molina for Nolin.. Was comparing Stroman to more of a Deck.. not meaning same type of pitcher but both were fast track "very safe" selections
  4. You prob wouldn't have moved Deck early on either... and Nolin isn't anything better than Nester Molina. HK been a legit 3 WAR guy now for the last 4 seasons or so.. think he makes $8m without looking. Moving over to the RC should really help him as well. I would be down with that deal
  5. Puig another one. Going to be best first 100ABs in ML history? Didn't we break that down with LAwrie? I forget who had the best
  6. I'm with you there. KU is really overrated in my opinion. Undoubtedly hot.. but doesn't belong topping lists like she often does.
  7. Yeah I think the phone will ring for Nolasco. The second WC really gives a lot of teams hope.. so more demand will drive up the cost.. I think its always the case with SP. Price tag will prob be too high for what it is
  8. It most certainly is not. "Should we aquire Bryce Harper" threads and that sort of thing might be.. but you can bet AA will be checking his board and working the phones soon enough, if he hasn't started already.
  9. He wouldn't come cheap.. and if you're going to splurge, not sure you want to blow your load getting a reliever. edit.. sorry either I missed your sarcasm or you edited your post about acquiring Crain
  10. He was one of the guys I was thinking about, as I was thinking about guys that wouldn't cost Sanchez/Gose etc.. but them I thought of what AA gave up for Happ and I'm not sure I want to see the deal made. There will be a market for Nolasco too
  11. In fairness to those of us that questioned him.. it wasn't that I thinking he had changed for the worse. It was more a park factor/division change thing. If Jays were out of it though, I would still look to shed the contract if I knew it meant Rogers would re-invest in another way.. however, even with this last off-season, its still questionable if that money would go back into the team.. so I guess I would ride out the ship maybe. Still possible it goes the other way though.
  12. Well, when I started this thread I was mentioning a guy like Eric Chavez.. players that woudnt cost what little high upside guys we had left
  13. .349wOBA doesn't seem too bad for a C. What's the mean production for that position? ..Also.. I like to look at ISO too if judging by wOBA as it slights power a bit. So I would be curious what that mean is for a C too
  14. Yeah, he might be able to be had at this point. Seeing as we have basically no positional prospects in the mix, I would take a shot on him.
  15. I've enjoyed watching/following Castro after I picked him up in fantasy ball.. but he's a former #10 Overall coming into his own at the mlb level at one of most important positions .. also only 1st year arb eligible next year. A "too good offer to refuse" from Toronto would likely involve dealing away our best prospects for sure. If we even had something they wanted. Right now he's on pace to be 4 WAR guy.. I certainly wouldn't trade that for a guy like Sanchez+, who may/may not be able to throw strikes in majors.
  16. Of course.. on the flip side is AA made a total s*** deal with the Happ fiasco.. and Jays could be eyeing another SP.. so maybe the hope should be they don't do anything.
  17. I didn't see a thread talking about possible acquisitions if we're buyers. I saw a tread thread but it was kind of discussing possibilities if we're sellers. It's almost time to start considering adding something to stay competitive.. but can you do it without mortgaging the future more? Any thoughts on guys we could go after? Personally, I like Eric Chavez. Getting ready to come off a DL stint but has been a nice bat for a couple years now (Well he's always been a nice bat but been steady last couple years in older age).. Bad UZR this year is most likely sss. No real place for him with Hill coming back now too.. and Prado making $40m.. they might keep him for the depth but also might be willing to move him for something halfway decent (but nothing major)..... also maybe make Lawrie play 2b for the month and change left in the season when he gets back.. This lineup is sexy: Reyes JB Chavez Edwin Lind Melky Rasmus Lawrie JPA
  18. I didnt read any responses to thread.. Someone else prob said it. But two words: "sell high". If possible of course.
  19. Wow, if someone made me guess the Jay's record in 22 games when leading after 7 innings.. I wouldn't have thought about saying 22-0. 18-4 prob wouldn't been my guess as there hasn't been many save opps we lost when the game was over.
  20. Yeah, that was the logic fail
  21. Old school team might have been attracted to JPA when the SLG% was there. I didnt mind him when he slg'd .500 but thats all done. Doubt team wants him. But as good news to everyone here, i dont think he will be in Jays future without the slg
  22. I think you were trying to troll.. but really it's not a bad idea. Moving Janssen to a contending team that's willing to pay for it may be a really good idea.
  23. That second deal is f***ing awful. He shouldn't be giving opinions for a living. On the first one.. maybe it makes sense of some level but Tigers and a here-and-now team. I would imagine they could go after minor pieces like that with some farm kids. Infante has been a solid everyday player for them.
  24. I own Lester in Fantasy and I'm hoping to regresses to the mean real soon.. cause I'm really hoping he isn't this bad.
  25. I've heard JJ to SF a few places.. I know they have a bunch of B-rated SP but I only read capsules on them. Dont know much about them but I think JJ would fit nice there.
