  1. I think Samar is a breakout candidate. If he goes for less than Sanchez + something else worth something, the Cubs didn't do good. There should be one elite prospect coming back. Also I think everyone should just completely disregard the Fister deal for a comp. That flew in face on last few years market prices
  2. I think you saberists get too hung up on velocity. Not trying to say there's not a distinct correlation between velocity drop and performance, I just think you guys work off too broad data to determine what a velocity drop will mean You take guys like Price and tie him in with hundreds of s*** guys that can't compensate when their velo tdrops. I'm sure if you looked at Top 50 kind of pitchers with excellent secondary stuff..they would decline at a far lesser rate than what the averages are.
  3. I wish AA would make one good trade so anytime a name gets mentioned, you're not thinking the Jays are about to get butt raped.
  4. Ugh.. in fantasy land I was hoping he was still a Jay target and Thole would be odd man out:(
  5. Actually I've been busy and actually just saw the Fister deal.. now I dont understand how the market works I guess
  6. Great deal for Oak. Dotn know what anyone is thinking either. Weeks blows. BAsically the A's just added some salary and picked up a legit closer. Not a guy that youre not sure what you will get next season. Also, based on this.. lol @ Janssen as main piece for Porcello.
  7. A lot of times these bargain pitchers like Johnson, Kazmir, Haren et arent looking for more years as they're trying to pitch for a longer contract with better terms. Even if you pay a guy like Johnson $13m instead on $8m.. or a guy like Haren 13 instead of 10.. I would wager most times it wouldnt ever matter. Pitcher would rather go to friendlier environment and division.
  8. I'm a believer in drafting the best player on the draft board.. you can never have too much minor league pitching.. you can turn it into what you want if your prospects are good.. but AA has no balance in drafting.. too heavy on the big risk, possible high reward guys.
  9. I'm not an AA fan at all.. but you have to respect the challenge he faces when pitchers on bargain deals arent coming to a launch pad like RC. That's why he has to pursue like every trade imaginable
  10. The only bad thing here is you set the bar so f***ing high off the bat..lol..now your new material has to meet the specs.
  11. I may take you up on that one day. I used to use latinamericancupid..so many hot girls on there. Good loyal wife types you won't find in the states.
  12. Online translation sucks. Like Spanishdic or something which gives you google and a couple others. I used to try talking to really hot latin american girls and I dont speak Spanish.. but it was a fail
  13. Lol. You should provide a contact for yourself at the end of arcticles. Besides the head hunters..it's good for feedback and such
  14. So hypothetically.. If a MLB team contacted you about a real job..not just PT number jockey.. Would you put the civil engineering on hold?
  15. While the OP is right..its also tough that a portion (even maybe good portion) of "new" posters really aren't. A good thing to have when the board gets rolling is to make a separate thread for WAR debates. Old school/new school I mean. Just move all offending posts so threads don't get ruined or get repetitive. People cam argue or explain there. Also maybe make a JPA support thread as that's the other troll bait
  16. I don't know. I think if you're LA you have to take those 4 guys all things considered
  17. Yeah I think Craig tilts it too much. Maybe Wong and another lesser guy
  18. I think I'd that if i was LA..but if I was Stl I would leave out Craig and try to include guys like Wong
  19. In the spirit of this thread.. If you moved Trout, what would it cost? From St.L: OT + Miller + Wacha + Craig?
  20. I jsut bought a SNES a couple months ago and Griffey Jr baseball was my first buy. Remembered loving that game
  21. Oh..unless it's pronouced "Wine Or"..I would pronouce it like that even if it wasn't the case
  22. Such a terrible last name to have when you're a kid.
  23. I think 7/140 for Fielder really isnt bad. At least for the next 4-5years I'm sure he will be worth it plus some. Yes, he had a down year at the plate but he has done that occasion throughout his career. He has some of the most raw power in all of baseball and he can hit too. It's not the obvious decline some people make it out to be. The other myth with Fielder is people say its bad to sign him long term cause he's fat. Guy is as durable as anyone in the league. Fielder is likely to have an Ortiz like career (just lesser numbers because Ortiz has always been a heavy juicer)
