  1. I’d like to say I was firmly on one side of the issue, but while I’m on the side of 73 is the record, it’s partially because of the appreciation of how great Bonds was. If it was Sammy Sosa, I’d say burn the record books lol
  2. I don’t think he leaves the stadium with the ball. We’d find out in 2028 who actually gets it, through the courts.
  3. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen someone come to the defense of Sammy f’n Sosa with roids.lol
  4. Not setting keepers > ghosting the draft. Lol
  5. I feel like he wouldn’t have been able to keep it though
  6. This is kind of just a lazy way of looking at things. Like “I’m so smart because I look at advanced stats” but really you guys just take the number without much greater thought to it. Sure maybe there’s something to do with the ball but it goes deeper than that. Why are some guys better in 2022, or at least flat? Take a look at some of the 2021 OPS leaders: Here’s a few in the Top 20 that are over .200 points lower this year, is it really the ball?: Schwindel, Castellanos, Votto, O’Neil, Muncy. Crawford. Look at all the names on the Top 50 list that are higher than they should be, or the guys like Donaldson or Cruz where the drop could be expected. This obviously changes the environment when regression hits The younger guys coming up really haven’t been hitting. Not a lot of guys taking the big step. There’s definitely a bit of watered down talent going on, so while Biggio and Chapman are “better” this year in terms of placement considering what other teams are putting out there, it’s highly debatable if they’re any “better” than last year. You can really only point to a slight reduction in K’s for Chap as best sign…and that probably explains his marginally better output
  7. This is not a continuation. This is why Spanky decided to take the time to go digging though posts
  8. Listen bro, I know you can probably sense I was one of those “cool kids” that you really resented growing up. I’m sorry the world works like it does. But no need to get back at me now. My gripe all along was Chappy’s bat. I never really questioned if he would make the team better. I watched the Jays in 2021. So take your anger out on your sex doll please
  9. I thought Vlad would be up to the task. I thought he’d get in shape enough to be at least average there. Beltran for everyone hot in the shorts. FF would’ve been sexy as hell in the lineup, especially come playoff time facing elite pitching. I actually always thought JRam was longshot so never really got excited for that
  10. I’m not questioning it. That would only come into play if Hoglund became a stud. As of now looks like a solid move, but not the impact FF or JRam would’ve been, which was clearly most of my gripe
  11. I think you had him in the MVP convo if I’m not mistaken. Part of why it was so huge is the Jays had literally the worst defensive 3b in the league over there in Biggio many games last year, not making plays that changed the course of games. You could put slap hitting Espinal over there and it would’ve been a huge improvement. Chapman has been below average hitter 2/3 of the season, not going to apologize for being disappointed Jays didn’t pull trigger on JRam or FF. No doubt Chapman was a clear upgrade but hopefully he hits in the playoffs as Jays could’ve made playoffs with an average 2 WAR guy there like EE no problem
  12. $300? For a shot at $5m not a bad toss away
  13. I wonder what LF seats were going for?
  14. I started to at the gym and it froze. Just getting home now and will
  15. Who got it? Fan, or no?
  16. Bro. Erase your sig line. What are you spiking? Lol. I was upset Jays passed on Freeman and JRam to pivot to Matt Chapman. People were like hell yeah MVP and he’s been basically what he was last yeah, which was an upgrade for sure but either of the other two would’ve been a clear upgrade. Chapman is a nice guy to slot in the 6 or 7 hole
  17. If a fantasy team had Eury and G-Rod, they’d probably be well on their way to being a powerhouse soon enough
  18. Get off the internet before you miss this week’s episodes of She Hulk and Ms. Marvel
  19. E for effort. No regrets then
  20. If someone trades the ball for swag, I won’t understand the world anymore
  21. Though I guess that’s how your people roll, carry on
  22. Jim, can you not be so f***ing simple and try to understand some context
  23. I mean Chapman is like Biggio really. Basically same hitter, D is probably a little better than numbers. Nothing deserving of a mea culpa there. DJ a different story. I used to like him and there was just a lot of black hole sucking. Hopefully he sustains the good play
