  1. With top prospects, teams will still have to weigh the decision as there’s a potential benefit but also the potential to waste a service year. On the 100-300 guys, there’s less at stake.
  2. Mlbpa looks after their players, mlb looks after their product. That’s the rub
  3. There you go! You want to encourage teams giving legit top prospects a shot, and discourage teams that aren’t competing from filling out their mlb roster with lottery tickets, taking jobs away from legit mlb guys
  4. No, they shouldn’t. 100 is a good number
  5. Have some options lol. I’ll make a final call in February. That’s last time I can take vaca until next winter.
  6. There’s no perfect way to do it. Quit your whining. It’s a good, big step. You don’t want s***** low budget teams throwing guys on the field hoping s*** sticks

TB fan bro. My kid going to school there justifies the bandwagon hop. They’re not doing too great anyway. I’m definitely a fan now though. After my sons mom passed I got him 1A top dollar seats for the GB game. That was his first game. The next week I got him normal seats for the KC game (still crazy compared to mlb games). So we’re both fans. So mock me only about TB amigo
  8. Basically you guys need to hope for some key injuries to my squad, otherwise it’s over lol. What a juggernaut Who knew Ben Simmons would be my worst rostered player though

Football is spiked. You said what you said, which wasn’t just hyperbole, and they’ve lost the last two games since. I wasn’t commenting on how the season will end for them, not do I even dislike them. They’re not separated from the pack though I do, however, enjoy seeing Aaron and co. flounder, so I was upset they pulled out the W
  10. Bonds and Clemens are arses but Arod is more of a douche. I guess I’m ok with the former, and not the latter… I was wrong on him testing positive twice but it does seem he failed a test in 2003. Then the big suspension came a decade later. Even though not a failed test, it was pretty obvious he cheated and I think he’s admitted it. So he did kind on get caught twice.
  11. Hmm.. perhaps I misremember. Something about him still rubs me the wrong way, where I don’t feel it’s the same as Clemens or Bonds. I guess I’m like a HOF voter.
  12. A-Rod got caught twice lol. I may disqualify him for that lol. At least the other guys were doing it when others were doing it and weren’t failing tests

    Didn’t age well bro
  14. Politics is undoubtedly a big part of it now, as evidenced by Schilling, who should’ve gone in before a lot of guys. Not sure if Rose would even be considered for reinstatement, but even if so, 100% politics would keep him out. Trump already made tweets pleading his case. For sure, if he got in he would do a victory dance tweet and put egg all over mlb’s face. But you’re right in the first place, it’s not politics. Pretty serious offense
  15. He’s chummy with the former President. It’ll never happen. All the modern woke writers outside of baseball would make that link and it just wouldn’t make for good press for mlb
  16. Texas is a good state to finish a career. Not sure if he has ties to there already
  17. What led to rift between Astros' Jim Crane, James Click? October reports hinted at a vague rift between Click and Crane, but the World Series champs not retaining the top baseball executive for the following season is unprecedented in the contemporary, front-office-centric history of the sport. The last top baseball executive to depart a World Series winner before the beginning of the following season was the Yankees' Larry MacPhail in 1947 — the product of an incident during the celebration where he drunkenly punched a writer, among other antics. … just when you think you know baseball history, there’s still always a funny story out there
  18. Well those people just need to make it over to this board
  19. Too bad they missed cashing in on Kelenic at his peak.
  20. Based on WAR I hope you mean. In terms of actual franchise consideration, I think if all the numbers are the same and they can only sign one, it would be Vlad imo
  21. Usually when a deal is that hot, as it was, the player will be like “I just want to do whatever it takes to win etc etc”.. Bo went on the record saying the Jays never even discussed it with him and he was planning on being the Jays SS… as Jays were actually pursuing Lindor, it’s unlikely they didn’t even discuss with Bo his feelings on the position change (as they already likely knew). I’m sure their conversations were with Lindor’s team just like Sem’s, which was “are you ok playing 2b” No logic stretch there
  22. Bro, if they traded Lindor, Lindor would’ve been a 2b. He’s never coming off until maybe he tells the Jays behind closed doors he’s signing somewhere else when he’s an FA
  23. The meltdown will be when DJ gets traded for something other than the perennial all-star he is
  24. Rafael P. probably makes it in if he doesn’t do that big speech in front of Congress pointing his finger. That will keep him out. Other than that, I think his failed test would’ve gone under the radar
  25. If I remember right, even in his prime years, Mattingly’s back became a big issue before he fell off. But no wouldve could’ves in the HOF. Unless it’s Negro leagues
