    I think it’s clear teams are structuring the contracts in such a way that they’re figuring higher AAV’s and adding years. So I think you have to look at deal like that and not at face value

    If he repeats last season, no doubt he gets at least 3/90 from someone based on the market

    If they did 3/90 it would be somewhat close to the market for an Ace type pitcher, look at Max and JV, which are better of course but paid more

    Truly one of the most stunning super team failures of all time. They definitely formed the greatest offensive super team of all time with Durant, Irving, and Harden. It was too much for most people, including myself. But they only play 16 games total with all 3 on the court. All 3 end up being traded off with little team success

    All eyes will be on a Simmons deal now. Really the biggest part of any deal with him is that a team is willing to take on the albatross and danger of the contract, and it seems Tor is.

    I used to be a Lebron fanboy but not really anymore as he’s a bit too outspoken for me. I can still appreciate him though. Still incredible to see, like Brady. I mean Jordan wasn’t terrible at this age, even a bit underrated maybe, but this is a whole different level.

    The crazy amount, yeah. But like 4 posters said they would’ve, or Jays would’ve offered 3 years or year-to-year for 3/60 or something, and so I was saying it was going to be more. Nobody was going to object to 4/100 or 5/100. I would’ve prob been down for 4/100 but can’t remember. As I said, with some of the other guys having success in their late 30’s, you would’ve thought maybe 2 really good seasons at worst

    No need to bring me into it when you get called out for a dumb comment lol While I agree it likely won’t mean a discount in FA, there’s still a benefit to keeping a good working relationship with your star player for reasons beyond the FA contract discount and stat line
