  1. You keep saying 10/460 was beatable, but who knows how high the Dodgers would’ve went. They were the obvious favourites and wound up with him. It’s not like the Jays could’ve offered 10/500 and the Dodgers would’ve tapped out
  2. Like I said at least the league gives out competitive balance picks to help level the playing field 🙄
  3. Okay now you need to settle down
  4. Lmao yes, everybody understands how future money is worth less than present day cash and literally nobody is arguing otherwise. Yet these guys keep parroting the same lines like they’re Warren Buffet explaining finance to a room full of ninth graders
  5. Great post John, I especially agree with the luxury tax calculation. When the league’s biggest spender gets a break on the salary of the games best player it looks really foolish in my opinion. Logic says you divide total dollars by years to get the luxury tax number.
  6. Nobody is arguing the yearly salary is the luxury tax calculation it’s the AAV My assumption was Ohtani’s luxury tax hit would be 70M/year If it’s 40M like Passan says…. That’s a huge difference. But at least Cincinnati and St. Louie get a competitive balance pick!!
  7. So you do not think Vladimir Guerrero Jr. should lose weight this offseason? Spicy
  8. Backloaded does not equal deferred payments though
  9. Reds too. So many interesting infielders
  10. Lmao what is this elementary school?
  11. Who is this happening with? I sincerely do not know of one example
  12. Obesity + millions of max intent rotational movements Now explain to me where C4 and C5 are located
  13. Bogaerts Correa Trout Turner Ohtani Betts
  14. However the LAids Dodgers are skirting the luxury tax with deferred payments is total BS and should piss off every FO in the league
  15. For 700M f***in rights there’s no opt outs you’re here forever
  16. Today I learned obesity has nothing to do with spinal injuries
  17. Deferred money doesn’t change the AAV which is used for luxury tax purposes
  18. Great now we get Cody Bellinger the year after they should’ve signed him
  19. I think you’re right that third will be addressed via trade. Outside of Chapman there is hardly anyone even worth signing
