Cuts can me made early, and we can also shift the deadline a bit to accommodate everyone.

Let's say, cut down deadline = midnight on the 9th or 16th of Feb, depending on when Yahoo opens.

How's this for a nice litmus test of SV% vs. team influence. Scrivens has like a .980 mark in LA, or something stupid like that. I bet he's under .910 in Edmonton.

Although, if someone makes their cuts a day or two late then it would be something I'd gave to log in the Tome of Darreldom, and if it becomes part of a pattern of non-participation, then we'd have to feed them to the BBDL and invite Grant to the big leagues.

Wow, talk about selling low on Dubnyk. His SV% the last three seasons were pretty f***ing solid for playing for one of the worst teams in the league. .916, .914, .920. That's actually a slightly above average SV%, while playing for the f***ing Oilers. And they give him away for essentially nothing 32 games into one bad season, while they're going absolutely nowhere. Idiots.

A) Probably nothing, especially if they have a decent excuse. It doesn't really hurt the league if someone is a bit late on making cuts. Their roster would be frozen though until they make cuts, and we'd be extra suspicious of them if they ended up making a trade a day or two after making late cuts (the assumption being that they would be waiting for a trade to go through before deciding who to cut). I doubt that will ever happen though. If someone goes AWOL and doesn't make their cuts for a few weeks, we'd probably look for a replacement GM. The subsequent picker would not officially be put on the clock, and a dozen league members would probably immediately tell the fool that they've picked someone ineligible.

You can cut players early if you want, but what we'll do before the deadline is just have everyone post their 20 keeper players and 12 keeper prospects to their Rosters page on proboards. Post it as a reply. Then we'll be able to easily track if everyone has made cuts in time.

Why not? Even if it's not just luck, there could just be something in his skillset that Corsi crazily overrates. Corsi is basically just the +/- of shot attempts, right?

Apparently I'm not a very good BR scout. Definitely whiffed on 4 of my 6 initial MiLB draft picks. At least Stroman in the last round kind of made up for some of the failure, and I think my farm is probably middle of the pack at least after our second draft.

He doesn't have amazing velocity like Darvish, but he doesn't throw soft. He has a nasty splitter and he has really good command of all his s***. The obvious semi-racist comp is Hiroki Kuroda. So yeah, 3-4 wins is what I'm expecting. I've only read a couple of articles trying to guess what he'll do. This one by Jeff Sullivan, and this slightly more bullish one from a bit of a niche site.

Jimenez has real value to the Jays at $14M AAV. Tanaka is the sexy option but probably not the most efficient. f***, you might be able to get Garza AND Jimemez for less than the cost of Tanaka... who knows.

To me, that looks like a really, really expensive way of adding maybe 4 or 5 wins. I think 6 is optimistic (they might WAR 6 in total, but that's not a 6 win upgrade. Goins/Izuturis might project for 0.4 or something and the #5 spot might project for 1 or 0.5 or so).

Using 2014 free agents, I wonder what the cheapest way to make the Blue Jays a 90+ Steamer team would be... Ellis was a popular cheap add but he's really only like, a ~1 win upgrade on Goins or Izturis (I think).
