  1. It's hard to decide whether a guy will last until your next pick.
  2. The RP distribution draft continues with The Hurl taking Ed Mujica. Round 1 will continue as follows: 11 Havok22 12 TheCatsAss 13 No49 14 Dinger 15 Torontofan 16 BTS 17 KingKat 18 NJH 19 Realmin 20 Spanky
  3. Not a massive fan of this list (although, it's fairly friendly to my dynasty league roster). I'll never understand the amount of love that Nick Castellanos gets. I'd question Franko as high as #17. I look at how high guys like CJ Edwards and Andrew Heaney are, and I wonder if ERA is slightly influencing these rankings. I mean, Heaney higher than Mark Appel already??? Towards the back end, I'm not in love with a lot of the "safer" older guys (like Lindsey, Webster, and Paxton), but I can see the argument for them. Furthermore, there are far too many Red Sox prospects in general. That's a sign of a bad list.
  4. Bet the over on Toronto! Sleeper team for 2014 for sure, much like Boston was in 2013. Just imagine if Edwin, Bautista, Reyes, Colby, and Lawrie stay healthy all year. Runs!
  5. I would've definitely, at the very least, signed Mark Ellis, a guy like Maholm or Capuano for SP depth, and traded one BP arm for a RHB with defensive utility that can platoon DH.
  6. Really looking forward to Santana signing with an AL team and pitching 30 angry shutout innings against the Jays this year!
  7. Guys, seriously. Ervin Santana blows. Ubaldo is a wiry lottery ticket with bad makeup and terrible mechanics. Garza is a ticking time bomb. They're all bad investments. It is what it is. AA f***ing goofed bigtime last offseason (for whatever reason, maybe it came from above), and no free agent fix was/is going to make things right. They'll live or die in the short term based on what they've already built, and they'll try to get back onto the "long term sustainable winning" horse in some fashion. I'd rather see Stroman, Hutch, and Drabek get hammered for 100 innings each, but stay healthy and develop and learn, than see Ervin f***ing Santana get paid 12.5 million bucks to serve up 40 dingers and chew Astroturf innings.
  8. Did you run away with the circus?
  9. The Rule 5 Draft (aka annual MLB draft, aka waiver draft) will start this weekend. I've posted the draft order in the "Draft Info" page on Proboards. We will conduct the draft in that thread and people will copy and paste the list, filling in their selections, as the draft goes on. We will have 12 hour draft windows, so it would be prudent for everyone to know when their picks are coming up and be prepared to select. If a pick is coming up for you and you might be away from ProBoards, you can always send a shortlist of players to a Darrell or another trusted league member in advance of your pick. Once a window expires, the draft continues in the same way as in our prospect draft, and the person holding an expired pick can make a selection whenever they arrive as the draft continues on beyond their lost selection. Any player in Yahoo's database may be selected, except for: A) players that are owned by a team on our MiLB rosters (see official roster spreadsheet on google docs). unowned prospects that have not played a game at AA or higher. C) players that are added to Yahoo's database after the start of the Rule 5 draft (see Rules > Rule 5 Draft). International free agents that are in Yahoo's database CAN be selected in the waiver draft. This includes Tanaka, Moon, Abreu, and guys like Adelmys Diaz and Alex Guerrero (although Diaz is not currently in the database). League members are expected to email the person following them in the draft upon making their pick, notifying the next guy that they are on the clock. Z3r0s has the #1 pick in this year's rule 5 draft, and he can kick off the draft whenever he wants after 12 noon on Friday the 21st. This is when his 12 hour window starts, and when our draft starts. If anybody has a good reason to push the draft back, please speak up. We aren't exactly in a rush - it's only February! If I forgot something important or messed up a pick in transcription, please speak up!
  10. What's IS? I'll PM you the link. Let's not post links to our important places in this cesspool.

Kyle Lowry seems to be an extremely effective player. Like, 7 win Ben Zobrist type of underrated star.
  12. Two protected picks. They could have signed a dozen QO free agents and still get to pick 9th and 11th this summer. It's kind of like MLB has handed the Blue Jays an extra ~$6M or so to spend on a free agent (arbitrary guess at value gap between lost 2nd and lost 1st rounder), and they've said "no thanks, we're good".

Are the Raps for real? Are they a cheap but young and well constructed team with a very promising long term outlook? Should I start watching basketball?
  14. Because they're the Lucky Leafs! Been getting lucky since '67! Proven track record of luck.
  15. puuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuukkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee groooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooossssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss f***kkkkkkkkk you
  16. The problem with people like you is that you don't watch the games, and then when the numbers don't regress ever so often, you chock it up to "a change in skill level" and carry on with your statistical white washing. Turn on the TV once in a while and maybe try to explain the data before defaulting to RTTM, you pleb.
  17. Mark Buehrle is 84th all time in pitching bWAR. Four more league average ish seasons and he could move into the top 50. 11 bWAR back of Roy Halladay, what are his odds of catching Doc? 5% maybe? Buehrle 4HOF? lol.
  18. I'd really like to know who the handful of interesting, unowned, draftable prospects are..... but I might be way too lazy to do the digging.
  19. Starting pitching is so f***ing thin in this waiver draft. Top of the available by o-rank: 1. Wandy 2. Bruce Chen (Yordano and Duffy could take his rotation spot; RP) 3. Jorge De La Rosa 4. Chad Gaudin (released 4 days ago) 5. Carlos V (no rotation spot; RP) 6. Brandon Cumpton (who?) 7. Jeff Locke 8. Zach McAllister 9. Tom Gorzellany (RP) 10. Jason Vargas 11. Colby Lewis (on a minor league deal I think) 12. Ross Ohlendorf 13. Jeanmar Gomez 14. David Hale 15. Todd Redmond 16. Chad Jenkins Pure sex
  20. Noticed that Nolan Arenado has 500 PA, so JaysBlue has to call him up as per our MiLB roster management rules. He acknowledged this earlier ITT when he made his cuts, and listed a 20 man roster that had Arenado on it while having no Billingsley, but he didn't list Billingsley in his "cuts" section of that post. Sil, is Billingsley the guy you want to cut for Arenado?
  21. Big ups to BTS (aka Cheeto) for inputting all of the rosters into Yahoo (save for Spankystein's)
  22. In fairness to realmin, his team doesn't really need a lot of tinkering.
  23. Found speedy's cuts. Made them. Orange.
  24. I'm worried about our college buddy. Alcohol? Drugs? Women!? What in the world could he be into...
