  1. I think it was in KC actually where I remember him throwing hardest. Or maybe that was his first game in KC... Actually I have no idea. Surely there are figures out there for how hot or cold different stadium guns are.
  2. Hutch is fooling nobody. Or maybe he's just getting BABIP'd. Nobody knows! Looks like he's hitting his corners, but he's certainly not throwing 93/94 like he did for that spurt in the big leagues. Looks like 88-91.
  3. Dodgers. Joc Ped and Urias, or maybe AJ Ellis, and/or other arms.
  4. lol @ how well instant replay just worked
  5. Prediction: kirksaw will pop up out of nowhere and make a prediction that Kenny Wilson will be a September call up in 2014
  6. I just don't like what I think the price vs. Projected production ratio will end up being. Granted, there's a slim chance that he ends up being s bargain in free agency if that attached pick sandbags his value enough. I don't think it'll happen in this market though.

    Yukhail Escobovski
  8. How many teams in baseball could afford to extend a QO to Stephen Drew? Still waiting for a free agent comp system that doesn't favour the good/rich teams and reward their luck/success with even more draft picks. Here New York / Boston / friends, you have so many assets that we feel compelled to gift you some more!
  9. I think what we have sneaking in here is some subconscious need to illogically justify the value disaster that was the Marlins deal. If Johnson signs back with Toronto on a 1 year deal and then has a fantastic 2014, helping the team compete or whatever, then all of a sudden that deal "looks" better, even if it doesn't make sense. As a side note, LMFAO at people wanting AA to sign Ubaldo f***ing Jimenez.
  10. Prob not. You don't post a 6.2 ERA with depressed velocity and injury issues, and then tie yourself into a long term deal. Pillow contract, all the way. The Johnson camp probably still thinks that they can get a big time deal with a bounce back season in 2014.
  11. Kind of surprised by the reaction here. Given the team's current payroll situation, I wouldn't have even considered offering him anything close to 14M. Even if you think (and rightly so) that he'll somewhat bounce back performance wise, JJ can take his ~90 inning show and f*** off.

Grabovski reminds me of Yunel. Very talented and well-rounded player that a retarded management group doesn't properly appreciate, lets go for nothing.
  13. Me too. 99% chance he's on the bench. He might even get a part time 2B role... who the f*** even knows!
  14. Buy him out. He's a sunk cost either way, might as well get someone like Goins on the roster who, at the very least, isn't going to bleed runs all over that shiny green astroturf. 2013 Maicer Izturis was the worst Toronto Blue Jay of the 21st century. Perilously close to the worst Blue Jay in history (-2.1 fWAR ties 1977 Dave McKay for 2nd worst, just 0.1 run behind 1997 Carlos Garcia).
  15. I'll be marginally surprised if DeRosa hits his weight in 2014. Really thought he hit over his head last year. Felt like his bat was suuuuuper slow and he got a bit lucky. Goins probably hits even worse but when you factor in his gold glove defense anywhere on the diamond... well, Goins should be starting and DeRosa should be starting RETIREMENT.
  16. Goins Gose Thole/Jimenez RHB Platoon signing for DH, preferably with OF and 1B utility. plz Goins/Gose/Jimenez could actually be a really exciting young bench.... as far as benches are concerned.... not that it matters much.
  17. Goins is young and he can play the middle infield, on a team with middle infield depth concerns. DeRosa is beyond old and he can't really play anything adequately anymore, aside from first base. Neither of them can really hit. DeRosa it is though! Cuz but taps.
  18. I know what you guys are getting at, but picking up a 750k option isn't the same thing as committing a roster spot to someone.
  19. In case anyone was contemplating paying for ESPN "Insider"....

    Some/most AHL teams probably don't

I really think the Leafs have just been getting lucky, more than anything. I think you could invert their W-L record and it would be more indicative of how they've really played. Calgary on pace for 50 shots, lol.

It's certainly "worked" so far, but I just can't believe that they've somehow found a sustainable winning formula that involves getting outshot 35-25 every night.

Shots are 15-7 Calgary. Leafs up 2-0. Is this real life? How does this train keep moving?
  24. Then Chicago can stitch JP to his clone, Tyler Flowers, and if Stuck On You has taught me anything, they could end up with a competent catcher!
