  1. Just fyi, when people say "it is what it is" they don't ever use contractions. It just doesn't sound correct (and it is an expression). He is what he is!
  2. Quintessential Aaron Sanchez inning. Called strike 3. Walk. Double Play.
  3. Of course SSS, but those AAA numbers are also sand-bagged by him starting 21 games and not being deployed as a LOOGY. His numbers in 2013 and 2014 in AAA are excellent. Guy has f***ing 58 K's and 2 BB in 47.1 innings in 2013!!! That's bananas. Then in 2014 his K/BB was nearly 5.00. So he's been an excellent MiLB RP in the last 2 years. There's a silver lining in the numbers.
  4. Colt Hynes' spring: 10.2 IP 9 K 1 BB 3 H 0 ER It will be nice to have Hynes and Loup against LHB, freeing up Cecil completely from LOOGY duties and allowing him to go multiple innings more often.
  5. Tolleson with a .936 OPS this spring and a career .371 OBP in the minors. Who really cares though....
  6. Yeah he might just end up being a financial dump. As in, take on a team's $12M player if they take back him and his remaining money.
  7. It really is amazing. The gap between his hitting and defensive skills might be an MLB record. BreakingBlue post?
  8. He's like the anti-Sanchez. - Left handed - Charismatic - Strikeouts - Whiffs - Few Walks - Good
  9. Gettin' hit hard. Not foolin' anybody out there.
  10. Anybody?
  11. But the Super Two status provisions in the CBA are a clear attempt to ameliorate a recognized issue. Although I suppose its entirely possible that this was recognized as an issue just not in this exact way, or to this exact degree, in past negotiations. If the issue was fully discussed and unpacked and these CBA terms were decided on, then the team is in the good. If it was never really addressed fully in negotiations then the "manipulation" by the teams doesn't look as kosher. The fact that teams themselves don't admit to manipulating service time, ever, kind of shows that they don't necessarily think that they are in the clear.
  12. MLBPA getting bent out of shape about the instrumental use of the CBA that they fairly agreed to is rich. They had the opportunity to address this stuff in the recent round of bargaining and they chose not to. It's not like this type of service time manipulation is brand new.
  13. I like how there are Cubs fans that are mad about the Cubes trading 2 weeks of Bryant's 2015 season for his entire 2021 season. Maybe the solution is to give teams a form of RFA control for a 7th season if the player was on an opening day roster to begin their first year (ignoring Sept callups previously) and ends up accruing exactly 6.000 years of service time before a future offseason. So you would still let the player become a free agent, but it would be restricted in the sense that they could only field 1 year offers and their controlling team would get a right of first refusal - a chance to match or let them walk. I read this idea on a blog a few weeks ago. ESPN?
  14. Wooo let's do this. Can van get payback for 2011? I think he probably can. But will he? No, he probably wont. Go me. jk go you http://cache.boston.com/multimedia/sports/bigshots/nhl_stanley_cup_2011/bs1.jpg

    There's a debate?

Yeah that site is garbage. It's amazing how valuable Carey Price is. If Toronto and Montreal traded goalies I bet Toronto would be in the playoffs and Montreal would be in like 8th/9th.

Oh yeah. Should be a slam dunk.
  18. I guess I'll just keep Raisel since most people seem to agree that it's not unfair. I think the confusion about Iglesias having to play in a game first comes from the "MLB Debut Waivers" rule in LoD + the fact that historically Yahoo does not add players to the system during the year unless they play a game first. Also, SVG, the Raisel Despaigne joke did not go unnoticed or unappreciated.
  19. Gibbers certainly doesn't blow up your inbox when he's trying to make a deal. Jaysblue must just know how to talk to him.
  20. Pretty disappointing that Floyd breaks in spring and Danny Kluber still can't make the rotation. Sigh...
  21. At this point I'm expecting to drop him early. Pray for a Kenny Vargas PED suspension so he can DH.
