  1. I'm just rooting for the guy. He has a fundamental base that Mottola can work with. Have you watched his Ab's? How can anybody who has watched him hit refute this?
  2. Holy f*** bro, seriously?
  3. Holy f*** bro, seriously?
  4. Goins is a polished defender, refute that all you want. He just has to put up average offensive number to contribute in a positive way.
  5. Lol!! Do you even watch the games?
  6. I've always said I think he has a 10% chance of sticking, if not here then somewhere else. That actually means I think he had a 90% chance of not sticking. Can you grasp that for a second please?
  7. The situations are not the same. We're just hoping that Goins can hit to stick, in Thames we were looking for a f***ing miracle. The only way Thames would've stuck is if he hit 300 with 25-30 HR power. The offensive expectations for Goins are nowhere near the same, from a second baseman's type numbers of course.
  8. So I guess we can throw all the years of his plus defensive play in the minors because minor league scouting reports mean jack. Sorry, i forgot.
  9. How the f*** can the Goins situation be anywhere remotely close to the Thames situation? Thames couldn't play a good left field in a +30 beer league, where Goins has shown and has the tools to be an above average defender. What a crock.
  10. When you're hoping for a player who has shown that he has the tools (defensively a given) that can dramatically improve the team at 2B to fail, then you're not a fan. Please do not refer JPA here, because he actually doesn't have tools, so of course everybody wants him to fail and gtfo.
  11. Let's be real for a second. Maybe you're an exemption but the "hive" on here want him to fail, so they can reflect back on this thread and hammer out to everyone how their statistical genie is NEVER WRONG. It would be too much of a disappointment if Goins does in fact stick, especially with the traction this thread has. I bet even if he does stick, they'll still find reasons on why he shouldn't be here. It's almost like their not real fans anymore, just a bunch of statistical gurus managing a baseball team in a video game.
  12. Oh God. AA will extend JPA now,he's convinced.
  13. I can't remember the last time we were on this side of the s***.
  14. #TankNation fans eat Crow. Oops,wrong thread.
  15. Oh no. Here comes Mr. RBI with the bases juiced.
  16. Goins still hit that ball hard with two strikes against a tough lefty.
  17. Big AB against the lefty for Goins here.
  18. Yeah for sure, just look at Kawasaki. The league was throwing a lot of first pitch off speed stuff to Goins early on,and he was disciplined enough to take that first pitch and instantly get himself into a hitter's count, where players like Pillar and others would flail. I think we'll see more first pitch fastballs thrown to Goins from here on,the question is will that be recognized and will he go ripping first pitch as a readjustment.
  19. P/PA don't mean s***,you know that.
  20. Lawrie's D is getting better. Scary.
  21. His pitch recognition and that way he takes pitches is what has got my attention. He seems to have the ability to get himself into hitter's counts more often than the average rookie.
  22. I just said i don't mind admitting when i'm wrong. WTF do you want from me? You jump on here with personal attacks? Nobody cares, seriously.
  23. Really? From a fundamental standpoint in MLB play?
