  1. Lol.. You can't compare floor numbers between the two because of the different numbers that are considered "floor" for their respective positions. Obviously 3B demands more offense and obviously Lawrie has the better bat,but given the offensive demands for each position, the floor numbers are a lot closer than you think if Lawrie has an average offensive season next year.
  2. Gose has the tools and given his age, he can't be given up on yet. Another year in AAA to get regular AB's and the org spends an extra $3.5M on Davis. No big deal.
  3. " Luckily his elite defense gives him a pretty high floor even with the offensive questions." I wonder who else that can be applied to..
  4. Gose is still young and needs to play every day. He needs another year in AAA,unless somebody gets injured.
  5. Wow.. A logical, baseball minded opinion. Refreshing, thanks bud. Some of the minions on here kept harping that it's not possible to assess his defense over a 10 game sample size, which is f***ing ridiculous. If he looks smooth and is making all the tough plays in a SSS, why can't he continue to do so? Hitting like you mentioned is a different story. He is less than one year removed as a good minor league hitter. Eastern League hits leader for 2012 (. 289)
  6. Careful, you may get castrated for making such an irresponsible notion that Goins is a better defender than Kawasaki based on 9 games in the bigs.
  7. Meh, i hate using Japan league stats as a comparison, but i do respect them. Goins has hit everywhere in the MilB,except for this year in Buffalo. Same thing can be said for Kawasaki's last year in Japan,in Seattle and now this year in Buffalo. Goins led the league in hits in the Eastern League in 2012.
  8. "Kawasaki's arm isn't so bad that he can't make most plays, sure he wont make a couple that Goins would over a course of a season, that's about the end of it." There has been three plays in only 9 games so far. How do you think this translates over the course of a full season? "I;d like to know what tool you feel is less valuable; speed? hitting for average? power? fielding?" Goins is better at all of these. He's proven this in his minor league numbers in comparison to Kawasaki's and he's on his way in proving it in the bigs. Go check the stats.
  9. Your asking me if Goins would of made those clutch hits that Kawasaki made when he's only played 9 games. Now who's not thinking rationally?
  10. Good lord.
  11. hahahahahahahahahahaha............................ Are you feeling ok bro? How about we give Goins the same amount of playing time before we start comparing his "clutchness" to Kawasaki's. OMFG
  12. Bro,Kawasaki doesn't make those plays, and that's three in only 9 games. Can it be anymore clearer?
  13. This isn't about Kawasaki playing 3B or 2B.
  14. Unless the org finds a back up replacement outside the org,Goins is the guy. Lets keep Kawasaki instead because he's a funny guy. A month ago you guys were ripping AA a new ******* for keeping the inferior Kawasaki around because he's a good "clubhouse guy",and today you are defending him over Goins who is clearly the better defender, just for argument sake.
  15. Sorry, wasn't you. You did say that second doesn't require a strong arm. Sure if your Ryan Sandberg. Point is Kawasaki doesn't make those plays i previously described, and that's already three in only a short period.
  16. That Kawasaki is hands down a better defender than Goins.
  17. Where the f*** do get off telling me how i evaluate the position? Where do you get this s*** from? Have you even read the posts?
  18. Then how can you say what you are saying?
  19. Perfect example was from today's game ending DP turned by Goins. Kawasaki doesn't turn that DP and the game continues. On the outfield relay throw that cut down the runner at home or the last play of the game going deep into the right field hole and throwing out the runner at first to secure a 3-2 win vs the Royals. In the little amount of playing time he has had so far, there are already three prime examples as to why he is a better option than Kawasaki or Izturis. Neither of the two make those plays. Agreed?
  20. Lol.. Gotta love the way you spin things.
  21. This is getting f***ing hilarious, although you are entitled to your opinion. "Fundamentally Goins isn't close to Kawasaki." Holy s***.
  22. Bro with a statement like that, you should stop adding to the argument. WTF?
  23. The evaluation was strictly back up role based. If care to actually read the previous posts, you should conclude to this fact. "Objectively evaluating Goins' defense with your eyeballs is extremely complicated" I'm not looking to put up sabermetric numbers based on his defense, however i've watched enough and been involved in enough baseball to know that as of right now,Goins is our best defensive second baseman. This DOES NOT MEAN that there aren't better options outside the organization. Is that f***ing simple enough, because you guys are making this really complicated. Lastly Goins does possess upper level defense, not elite, but upper quarter.
