  1. I think Jose is looking for 4/120.
  2. We don't know if the A's were willing to take on most, if not all, of Bruce's contract. This would explain only giving up a "B" prospect.
  3. Except there isn't any trouble here. There's no way Shapiro is taking on his whole contract, and if a prospect needs to go back, it will be someone like Fields. Team option in 2017.
  4. Injuries in 2014, 2015 showing signs of old self. Worth the gamble for Saunders plus $2Mil.
  5. That's why I started off by saying "believe it or not". LOL..
  6. Guys.. Believe it or not, there is value in having a legit 25-30 HR threat added to your line up, regardless of the weak wRC+. 26 HR & 35 doubles from the left side will add more overall value than Saunders could provide. Paying no more than $5Mil for Bruce would be an upgrade, imo. A legit power LHB batting sixth or seventh will make the line up better on several aspects. This should only be viewed as a 2016 move.
  7. Stuff i read on Sanchez and first hand watching Jimenez play. Maybe saying Jimenez is a better defender "by far" is a bit of a stretch, but i'm confident in labeling Jimenez as the better defender.
  8. Not really.. Jimenez is by far a better defender and we have enough offense to hold the the fort if Martin gets hurt.
  9. Nice signing. I like the depth being built, as Gibby can piece together the #5 slot with windows of hot stretches from the added arms being brought in.
  10. Only 10 games, wow. Would it be so difficult for Rogers to add a few mid week games on their Sportsnews channel (500)? It's actually unreal and embarrassing when you compare the Yankee and Red Sox ST TV schedule.
  11. Is there a ST TV schedule out?
  12. I hope Rogers broadcasts a healthy number of ST games this year. After the year we just had combined with our owner being the country's leading cable provider, it would only make sense. Time to step it up Rogers, your financial well being could depend on it.
  13. You're analysis is based heavily on defense obviously. The offence Bautista / EE create is off the charts. I personally wouldn't place EE ahead of Bautista either. Tulo finding his offensive norm, or close to it, is key.
  14. But he's more valuable than Goins!! Shapiro is clearly a moron.
  15. Smoak batting sixth while Travis is buried in the eighth spot? Not happening, flip them.
  16. That's what I figured, but wasn't there talk that he was offered 5 / 25? Regardless, he's going from $2mil per to probably $500k. Financially, he's taking an obvious short term hit, but he's most likely setting himself up for a long term reward. TBH, I don't think he cares if he remains in this role for the rest of his career.
  17. $10mil annually, or for the five year term?
  18. Next season is a new year and anything can happen (injuries, regression) and let's not forget Chapman will most likely miss a good chunk of the season, if not the whole year. The Blue Jays' offense is probably the offense of choice from any MLB team that would have the most success against Chapman. Travis, Donaldson, Bautista, EE, Tulo, Colabello and Martin is a pretty nice stretch of RHH. Chapman better not fall behind too often, or else he's asking for trouble. Welcome to the AL East.
  19. Give me a f***ing break..
  20. All these points of concern were being heavily stated when prohibition was lifted. Marijuana will be regulated just like alcohol is in Canada and the novelty will soon wear thin. Teenagers can easily obtain weed regardless, except obtaining it while illegal makes it more intriguing. Alcohol is far more dangerous, short and long term. Hey RealAccountant, why not conduct a survey to find out how many people who consume alcohol regularly add the usage of cocaine to the mix.
  21. W.T.F wow
  22. Is this thread serious?
  23. I mentioned that trade earlier this year, but someone pointed out that Carlos Martinez suffered a scary type of shoulder injury, although i have no details. EE in the NL is probably not a good idea though. It would cost a bit more than EE alone as you said. EE may be easier to trade at the deadline, although the team he's going to would pretty much have to be guaranteed to make the post season or else he'd veto.
  24. A team on the cusp of making a serious post season splash in need of a power bat like EE's would probably trade a young #2-3 type for one year of EE, if they have an abundance of young pitching of course.
  25. Signing both Davis and Heyward isn't happening. I've said months ago that signing Davis would make sense if the term is no longer than four years, preferably three. The Jays have to make a move regarding Bautista and EE, with the most likely outcome being trading EE for young pitching. We have a crazy line up as is, but a LHH power bat would provide a nice balance. Sign Davis and two late inning type relievers and call it a day.
