  1. He's in the MLB and is here to stay, regardless of the Travis situation. You and the rest of the f***tards who were absolutely sure he'd be selling hot dogs at this point can suck s***. "His bat still suxxxxxxxxx" LOLLLLLLLLLLLLL.. What do you do for a living again? GFY about some other $50. I lost the Dickey bet with you and paid you straight up. I don't know WTF you're harping about.
  2. Oh c'mon.. While I agree that analytics should not be perceived as an absolute, but as a guideline, there are many personalities on this board that use the analytic tool as a slam dunk analysis. This is what is creating the intense debating. Some people feel they can see by watching the body work of a player that he can improve on his MiLB or early MLB numbers, while others use these numbers as a CONCRETE GUIDELINE. Look how long the "Can Ryan Goins stick" thread went on for. I'll have to admit though that the majority of the time the numbers usually play out,but as an overwhelming majority.
  3. What you just said should be applied to the supporters of analytics who use them as absolutes.
  4. Pretty much sums it up. Clowns on here think they're baseball gurus because the analytics say so. Some people just can't accept that it's not always as simple as that. Notice the other f***ing genius' are nowhere to be found.
  5. I think you're taking this a bit too far. Goose is f***ing losing it, case closed.
  6. Lol, he did that once, not for all his Hrs. Find a better example.
  7. I've lost a feel for the board, so I got no f***ing clue.
  8. Yeah I know but still.. You take away some of the entertainment value.
  9. No.. We've had our differences in the past, that's for sure. Putting him on the IL might be a bit steep and not much fun.
  10. Wow.. I haven't been on here much since the season ended. WTF happened?
  11. Needs work on his secondaries. He's at best one year away, probably September 2017.
  12. What is this? Is it true most here have King on their IL? I'm being serious.
  13. Hutchison's future success will be in the pen. JA Happ has something to prove, Chavez could be the next Estrada. Pompey is the clear cut positional player choice, the kid has talent. Travis has already shown he's a big league ball player. Goins will be better offensively this year and will keep pressure on Travis.
  14. This needs to get done, Bautista will be gone and can't lose both. 4/90.
  15. How about that Goins kid..
  16. I don't attack the mentally disabled.
  17. Good thing that dragon BABIP 'd him that HR and double yesterday.
  18. I wouldn't want to get into a fight with him, the guy is jacked. No loft in his swing, and I hope nobody tries to mess with it tbh.
  19. A lead off type with no power will not replace, or even come close, to replacing what Bautista means to a line up. I like Alford and i hope he becomes the type of player he is in a big way in the MLB, but I'd also like to see Rowdy Tellez take the next step in 2016.
  20. So putting up a .400 in AA would negate even considering resigning Bautista? Pompey's 2016 season has more relevance than Alford's, unless you're already assuming Pompey will have a major role 2016/2017.
  21. Not if they feel he'll be basically a 41 year old crippled DH that will be performing well below the norm and the difference in overall money is roughly 10M. It's not totally crazy to think management would rather pay a bit more for a productive player than be handcuffed financially in the fourth / fifth year where that $20-25M can be utilized a lot better in 2020-1.
  22. He's more likely to get $30M a year on anything under a five year term. If he gets five years, there's no way he gets $150M. I'm not saying he'll get 4/120, but the i think a four year term is his best chance at overall money. For all i know, the Red Sox or the Yankees might go full retard.
  23. Because of the age factor he might get more money overall on a four year term. 4/120 vs 5/100-110.
