  1. Yes, we can all see that catch is made less often than it is made. Thanks Sherlock.
  2. Bautista in mid season form. Nice deal we got him on.
  3. Wonderful.. The Statcast nerds have their representative talking jibberish. Catch probability was 79% on the Pompey double. Who gives a f***.. It's getting a little bit too much now. That f***ing dweeb probably doesn't even like the game itself in it's physical form. I like stats, but it's getting f***ing stupid.
  4. Pearce at 1B. We need athleticism in the outfield with Bautista in RF. Lawrie would be ok to back up 3B just in case, but no way i let his middle infield butchery play out for any extended periods. On that note, let's hope Travis' defense has improved (specifically going to his right).
  5. Watch and learn folks.
  6. Smoak is so f***ing bad. Good news though.
  7. Urena's defensive issues still looming.. Alford was robbed on a shot to left center.. Pompey 0-3.. Smoak continues to struggle..
  8. Actual results vs what you're trying to achieve are two different things. To simplify, his swing was too long for his natural ability to hit MLB pitching with the same consistency as he did in the minors. Nobody said he had raw power.
  9. Don't you dare tell anyone here that Biagini can put up better numbers than Stroman. Shame..
  10. Yeah, that's how it does basically work. Results will obviously vary depending on the mental make up of the player, only if you're willing to sacrifice power.
  11. More players don't do it because they refuse to sacrifice power in the process. Like Ichiro once said that he could hit 30 HR a year if he wanted to, but didn't want to sacrifice his on base numbers. He felt he was more valuable being on base more, not that I'm comparing Pillar to Ichiro. Pillar is seemingly headed towards that type of commitment.
  12. Wrong.. I guess the past three years don't count.
  13. Ryan Goins says hey.
  14. He's has shown the ability to get on base his whole life until he got to the show. He never made the necessary adjustments to combat the superior pitching, but he's seems committed in doing that now.
  15. Being short and quick will allow a bit longer to recognize before committing, his OBP will go up. Kevin Pillar is committed in being a top of the order type bat. I believe he has the talent to do it, but we'll see.
  16. Because Smoak's only offensive value comes from power, which he would never sacrifice. He's probably just too dumb to make any necessary adjustments anyway. Pillar plays the position and possesses the natural ability to go short.
  17. Nah, wasn't me. It's just a simple observation based on what from what i saw in Sunday's game, that's it. Yes making predictions without years worth of relevant data is suicide here. I respect the way that most here view the game, but that's just not the way i prefer enjoying it. Don't get me wrong, i love stats, but there is a bigger human element to the game that people just refuse to recognize.
  18. No real reasons explaining why, but fair enough. The only defense is going by projections, which by the way are moderately better than his 2016 numbers.
  19. You kids are boring and annoying. We'll see..
  20. The hive is back in full force. People can't freely post their opinions on a public forum without being attacked i guess. Whatever floats your boats kids.
  21. Seriously.. What's the f***ing problem here?
  22. Did you ever stop and THINK that there may literally be people reading this board that are truly mentally challenged? You're a real f***ing goof.
