  1. Yes, but your chances increase with a no stride all hands approach. I'm recommending this with two strikes and a RISP. Smoak is a big guy, so a HR is not off the table by any means, especially at Yankee Stadium. Miggy uses that approach pretty much all the time because he's still strong enough to hit 35+ HR a year regardless, they're just not tape measure shots. I'm not comparing Smoak to Miggy, but that approach (especially with two strikes) would help any hitter. The problem is players like Smoak get paid well enough to hit 20-25 HR's to go along with a .220 / .290 type slash line. It's pretty much an ALL ME type of approach, but that's jmo.
  2. Is it hard to argue the fact that base hits are more common than HR's? Is it hard to argue the fact that (especially vs Tanaka) that a hitter might want to go with an all hands type approach with two strikes with a RISP? Less than two strikes, take a rip sure. Nobody said to not try and hit the ball hard.
  3. Is Gibby seriously using Grilli here? You know he can't pitch back to back days.
  4. Morales needs to be dropped to the 5 or 6 spot until he finds himself. He's basically the only hitter not having good AB's.
  5. The offense is starting to come around, good sign.
  6. It's utterly ridiculous to take a massive HR cut like that with two strikes and a runner on third, down by five runs. A base hit gets us a chance with one swing of the bat.
  7. You really need to think gap to gap vs Tanaka.
  8. What time is your work out tomorrow morning?
  9. Threw 13 pitches in Sunday's 3-1 win, so probably not.
  10. Lol.. Gibby has hope for this game not letting Latos throw at least 100 pitches.
  11. Nice, don't just gift wrap the game. Hopefully we can get into their pen a bit which will help out in tomorrow's game.
  12. Pearce was starting tomorrow regardless.
  13. Pearce is alive !! Boxcar finally blew his load.
  14. A series win would be another solid stepping stone moving forward.
  15. That's the dumbest 0-2 pitch i've ever seen.
  16. Latos has zero movement on his fastball.
