    It very well could be. His defense has improved a lot in the past year.

    Yeah, people who don't know s***. Young catchers that have been handed the starting gig always work and focus on their defense and calling a good game. Their offense is usually neglected, thus the early struggles. Jansen has shown to have a decent bat, so you know it will come around once he reaches his comfort level defensively.

    I would seriously contemplate re-signing Sogard for another year. You're not going to get anything valuable for him and his stabilizing presence would be good for the younger players one more year. It appears that he's made some sort of an adjustment in his approach at the plate where there is good reason to believe he'll continue to be at least above average moving forward.
