    Grichuk and his .284 OBP batting third tonight with Smoak batting seventh. Man, is it ever obvious that Atkins is squeezing the lemon hard when it comes to Grichuk. What a buffoon.

    If Zeuch adds and uses a four seam fastball up in the zone and locates it consistently, he may stick as a #4-5. He throws hard enough for a high fastball to be effective when you mix it in with his two seamer and slider. He has no change up from what I've seen, but his slider looks promising as a pitch that can upset a batter's timing. He's the type where we'll just have to wait and see.

    f*** we need to sign a few free agent bats next year, one who can play CF. Time to move on from the scrub experiments.

    I agree. I'm hoping we sign someone who can play multiple positions (including CF) that also has a decent bat, a .270/.330/.470 type. I don't think we can rely on Smoak or Tellez to be that solid #5 in the order, so we need to pick up an affordable bat or two. Teo, Drury, McKinney and Fisher hopefully don't see much playing time next year, especially the last three.

    There's a much better sequence against Donaldson. Buckled him on a 1-1 curve for a called strike and then came right back with it down in the zone that was fouled off. Getting him to flail at that 1-2 curve that he fouled off set him up to be frozen by a nicely located fastball which was executed perfectly. Nice to see Jansen make the adjustment on the pitch selection there.

    His bat, yes. He is the best defensive infielder on the team though.

    Imo, you can't have a sub .300 OBP bat in the top five. Grichuk's power is intriguing though, but he's better suited batting seventh with the door open for batting sixth if he performs well.

    I think i prefer McGuire's presence behind the plate over Jansen, not that Jansen is horrible. I like the makings of a strict platoon with the two, or until the likes of Moreno, Kirk or Adams start breaking down the door.

    Absolutely nothing. I'd rather give the playing time to Jonathan Davis or Anthony Alford just to see if they show signs at sticking in a back up role, as at least they bring a defensive presence/base running ability while they'd be here. McKinney is total mediocre AAA fodder trash.

    So Donaldson looked uncomfortable on the breaking stuff last week in Toronto and buckled on the 0-1 curve ball he took for a strike today, but an 0-2 four seam fastball was thrown for some strange reason instead of burying another curve to at least set up the fastball.

    Kloffenstein looks composed and has good command of his fastball, curve and change up. Fastball sitting at 93-94 which should get a bit harder in a few years. He just turned 19 a few days ago.
