There may not be another opportunity to use Tellez in this game with the top of the order coming up in the eighth. Two men on and down by two with one out in the seventh didn't seem to raise Dumbf***toya's antenna at all.
This is more than concerning.
Shatkins may be pretty decent at drafting and assessing young talent, but they seem to be totally clueless regarding atmospheric conditions in the dugout. If only Shapiro would hire a competent GM and stay out of the way, except for the draft.
Every lever Dumbtoya pulls is the wrong one, it's unreal. He decides to try playing some 4D chess and have Thorton open instead of starting Stripling. Thorton should have gotten out of the inning unscathed but the Dumbtoya spell is too powerful.
Shatkins is showing massive incompetence with every mounting day Dumbf***toya manages this team. The young ball players need a leader, but Beta Shatkins will see it otherwise.
Shatkins needs to consider letting Montoya go soon and just hand it over to Schneider. It appears that it was the plan all along so might as well get it over with since this is easily a playoff team with proper guidance and a few healthy bodies back.
