  1. Putting Ortiz on 1st also gives you the force out at any base.
  2. Yes. MLB posts the video angles that were used to overturn the call. They post the videos for every call confirmed or overturned. http://m.mlb.com/video/search?query=definitive+angle
  3. How is it "tightening the vice"? 1st base was open anyways, and Ortiz won't score on a double. The only way it would be worse is if Hanley hit a homer, which he hasn't hit many of this season.
  4. You're neglecting to mention the fact that Ortiz is probably the best hitter on the team and a LHH, while Hanley is a righty.
  5. Can't wait to see the definitive angle video on MLB.com for the play at home. I really want to see what video angles the umps used to determine Swihart was safe.
  6. It probably would have been a ground-rule double, so only 1 run. But that, and the garbage overturned call at home, and Stroman pitching to Ortiz with 2 RISP and 1st base open is the difference in the game.
  7. It has to do with the better matchup against Hanley and the fact that there is a base open at 1st... No hindsight involved. Even Pat and Buck were calling for Stroman to walk Ortiz. Baseball is a game of matchups. It was dumb to pitch to Ortiz in that situation. Likely Stroman's ego that kept him from walking Ortiz.
  8. No... Guys on 2nd and 3rd, 2 outs, Ortiz is a LHH, next batter is a RHH... It made a lot of sense to walk Ortiz in that situation.
  9. I'm gonna stop watching if this is ruled a catch
  10. The umpires can't just just start overturning plays because they THINK the runner is safe/out. It has to be 100%. That play was not 100%
  11. I agree, but you really can't see where/when the tag is applied.
  12. True. Pretty bad tag by Martin, and Gibby gave Stro too much leash
  13. I agree. He was likely safe, but there was not enough evidence to overturn. Martin was blocking one of the camera angles
  14. Yes but you can't even see where Russell tagged, so it should be inconclusive
  15. We'll be able to see the conclusive angle on MLB.com later
  16. Complete ********. I don't care if he was safe or not, that was too close to overturn.
  17. I think its just Boston and their babip voodoo
  18. Was at the game tonight (and last night). Nice to see 30,000+ on weeknights. Great atmosphere for the games. Tonight was chilly as f*** up in the 500s though, had to buy a long sleeve shirt to keep warm haha. Hopefully jays can keep up this nice streak they've been on for the last couple weeks. Also, Barney is GOAT
  19. Why does bWAR suck a bag of dicks?
  20. Kinda have to wait another month or so before teams are willing to trade good arms
  21. Maybe Saunders, but that's it
