  1. I know exactly the type of person Stroman is (the type that has to make all their opinions known on social media, constant complaining). Honestly people like that are insufferable to deal with. Also that story about Stroman is pretty damning.
  2. Still haven’t seen Gurriel anywhere. He must be sick
  3. I think the main thing that changed is that when the original agreement was struck, the owners did not expect they would receive 0$ in ticket and vendor revenue over the entirety of the season.
  4. You’re right. BUT, on the other hand, why would the owners bother getting the season started if they’re going to LOSE money? Might as well have no season right? Its a tough argument.
  5. Lol can’t wait to see all the NL fans throw an absolute fit over this
  6. Doesn’t make any sense. I doubt there will even be any games in Toronto at all. Doesn’t make sense to go through the hassle of crossing the border numerous times when there’s tons of parks they can use in Florida/Arizona/othe minor league parks.
  7. The Alomar homerun game against Oakland in 92 was an excellent display of terrible management. I was seriously dumbfounded at how little critical thinking was going on back in those days. One of the highlights (not necessarily the manager’s idea but): McGwire bunting with a runner on 1st in the 8th inning in a tie game
  8. Manfred’s push to gut the lower level MiLB teams/leagues
  9. Dude did you even read the latest news? That’s not at all what’s happening. They’re saying if there’s no season in 2020 players like Betts, Stroman, etc. will still be credited with a year of service time.
  10. “Latest MLB proposal includes draft in 2020, likely later than current June dates, sources tell The Athletic. Also includes service time for players if season is canceled; players would get same service for ‘20 they earned in ‘19. Parties earlier had discussed tabling that issue.“ “The most important thing for the players: In the doomsday scenario of no 2020 season, they will get full service time, meaning Mookie Betts, Trevor Bauer, Marcus Stroman, J.T. Realmuto and others will be free agents in November regardless of whether games are played.” Holy f*** that’s bad if true.
  11. Yeah seems like they're waiting until the absolute last minute before they issue any refunds. I have tickets for Mar.27th and Apr.15th, we already know these games aren't happening. I want my damn refund... probably by next week they'll start doing it.
  12. Holy s*** Alford looks like a little leaguer
  13. I thought Shaw was promised the 1B job? Unless they’re planning on Shaw splitting time between 1B and 3B, and having Vlad DH more
  14. Lolllllll
  15. What a stupid statement
  16. 1 year for Ozuna??? What the hell?? I would’ve done 3 years easy
  17. The only way baseball becomes more popular IMO is if they significantly cut the number of games per season. Like under 100. There’s just way too many games for people to get excited over a single game’s outcome. I don’t want that to happen though, as my love for baseball is largely due to the fact I can watch a game on any given day from April-October
  18. I hope these powder blues replace the red jerseys. Really don’t like the reds
  19. Agreed. The logo with the baseball is excellent
  20. When did trading draft picks become a thing?
  21. bWAR is ass
  22. Bumping for bob
  23. Does the sport of baseball even f***ing matter?
  24. http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/mlb/prospects/watch/y2011/index.jsp?c_id=tor He was listed 4th in 2011 by MLB.com rankings. Close enough, i’ll give Samson a pass if he misremembered. Also something interesting to note is that Samson and Anthopoulos likely worked with each other in the Expos front office from 2000-2002
