  1. Pretty sure every team has rookies over performing their salary and vets underperforming. Padres with Hosmer, Yanks with Chapman, Nationals with Corbin…
  2. Yeah fair point, I suppose it depends how they choose to spend that money. If they sign someone like Chris Davis… then its a waste. If they make smart signings they could be good very soon. Like.. Syndergaard on a 5 year contract? Not good. Soto on a 10 year contract? Scary team.
  3. If the jays play like .500 ball the rest of the way (17-16) they probably get a playoff spot due to the fact that would mean several losses for Baltimore and Tampa. Its gonna be a dogfight this last month.
  4. Yup. Its time for us to prove that the Jays are a playoff contender and that Baltimore is a major pretender.
  5. Also a 4 game series at the Trop end of September
  6. My guess is you’re banned come playoff time
  7. Wouldn’t that be rich
  8. Wasn’t great, couldn’t finish many batters. But there were definitely like… 3 runs that scored on weird s***/bad babip luck. - Merrifield missed a liner right at him that cost a run - Kirk tried to throw out the runner stealing 2nd and the runner on 3rd scored on the play… this is with a 1-2 count on the batter who would have been the 3rd out - a bloop single on the LF line that scored 1
  9. Why would they replace the 2022 AL manager of the year??
  10. I love you Cavan
  11. I would not be surprised at all if the Os end the season under .500, or at least do that next year. They are not this good.
  12. Why lefties??
  13. Close game. Bad babip luck for the jays tonight on both ends. Mitch White magic looks like its worn off. Lets have a good road trip
  14. Chappy just missed again dammit
  15. Giving up a homerun in an 0-2 count with 2 outs is inexcusable
  16. Sure. That is probably true for every offseason and every team though. The lineup doesn’t have many holes next year, maybe could upgrade at CF or 2B/SS but that’s it. Pitching will be the focus again
  17. Makes perfect sense to me. I just hope they have the sense to throw Bass or Garcia or someone in there inning 4/5 if Stripling gets into a jam. Give Berrios a clean inning.
  18. August 31 Vladdy - 1 Point - Springer - 1 Point - Bichette - 2 Points - Kirk - 2 Points - JaysAllMighty Chapman - 2 Points - Hernández - 2 Points - Gurriel Jr - 4 Points - Merrifield - 5 Points - Biggio - 6 Points - wilko, Stangstag Off the bench: 10 Points -
  19. I just realized, if Berrios had not been extended then he would have been a free agent after the season. His contract probably would’ve looked more like 5/80 or something, maybe a 1 year QO deal.
  20. I think if the FO is that short-sighted then the team is in deep s***. You have to go into 2023 thinking that Bo and Berrios will be close to their career norms. Have a backup plan sure, but you can’t really give up on a player year 1 of a 7 year contract
