Im sure money was a consideration. Its tough to have 2 guys in the bullpen making 15+ per year. We are tied to Hoffman for another couple seasons already.
Rotation is also expensive and we have to replace potentially 2 spots next season.
And then losing Bo… not sure what will be done with the INF situation
France has proven to be a great hitter in the past, but that was like 2 years ago at this point. He may very well be washed. Would be nice if he found it again
Bieber was dominant for like 2 starts… ok. But before his injury in 2023 the season stats were just ok. Solidly #2/3 starter territory.
I do not expect him to pitch like an ace for us, mid-rotation stats with flashes of brilliance (like Gausman) would be great
I can’t believe how many people pay 0 attention to the game. A few weeks back we had 2 young boys/teens sitting behind us (not sure where the parents were) and they literally were playing Fortnite on their iphones the entire game. I don’t think they watched a single pitch. Like… why?
Im not sure why you're so hung up on the "cost" of this trade. We gave up 2 players that are very likely never going to be more than replacement level.
I feel like i remember people saying the same s*** about Zach Pop when we acquired him. Oh he has 5 years of control, he throws hard, has a great sinker, stuff+ is actually really good, yada yada.
Track record means something IMO
