    I honestly have no idea what happened but clearly something changed with the hitting philosophy. Last year everyone’s contact numbers were too high but damage was not being done in the way of XBH. Maybe this year the org decided having a lineup full of slap hitters isn’t ideal and hitting shouldn’t be a “one size fits all” approach. Maybe its these new pitching sim machines, not sure if they had those last year. But I do know Popkins was pushing for those machines to be used more

    Going 4-2 this week might not even gain us any ground lol. But yes its almost a necessity at this point to play better than .500 ball or the Yanks will catch up

    Frustrating series, but it wasn’t a blasting like many were expecting. All 3 games were winnable to the very end. Caught some bad breaks and bounces. Could’ve hit better. On to the Astros!

    More like, he HAS to. The only way JS gets fired is if he stops listening to the front office. I have a guess that’s exactly what happened with Montoyo.

    Probably being pressed by the front office. We will continue to see Varland in high-leverage situations for the next 2 or 3 seasons whether he’s good or not.
