Probably a short term tryout; really I just had a roster spot to play with after cutting bait with Greene. Maybe Butler can heat up and out-hit Papi for a month, at this point that would really only require something like .320/.400. I do agree with your decision to rid yourself of him, I would have done the same if I owned him for the last year.

Yeah, but Buehrle sucks. 4 K/9, mid 4 ERA, that's what I'd expect to see from Haren and yet it's really been quite a servicable line thus far.
