  1. The Phillies are so derp, it's neverending.
  2. Sandberg resigns. Not shocking, the players all hated him.
  3. Sorry Boxcar. Cornelius Randolph - OF - Phillies Phillies prospect OF Cornelius Randolph reached base in each of his four plate appearances Thursday in his professional debut for the Gulf Coast League Phillies. Randolph went 3-for-3 with a triple, RBI and walk in the game. The Phillies selected the 18-year-old with the No. 10 overall pick in this year’s draft and gave him a signing bonus of $3,231,300. An infielder in high school, Randolph already has been moved to the outfield, potentially giving him a more direct route to the major leagues than if he were to stay at either shortstop or third base. Regardless of his defensive home, Randolph’s excellent bat is what will make him an impact player for years to come.
  4. This was probably going to happen anyway.
  5. I'm going to say he's out for the season with this one. Bare minimum, 6 weeks.
  6. I'm totally attached! Not Jose Fernandez obsessed, but really quite smitten. And not to take away from Keuchel's moment-in-time acehood, but Jaime's career numbers are better pretty much across the board.
  7. Keuchel: 7.3 K/9, 3.06 K/BB, 64.2% GB, 2.17/3.06/2.87 Some other lefty: 6 K/9, 4.57 K/BB, 67.2% GB, 1.69/3.03/2.97 They even have pretty similar repertoires. Twinsies!
  8. RIP Joe Kelly I love how the Red Sox gave up John Lackey for nothing, and the next year they spend like crazy to compete while completely neglecting their rotation.
  9. But you've met me like 3 or 4 times... So you already knew I sounded like that.
  10. Yeah, even last year when he went 24/24, he only slashed .255/.313/.430. I don't think he's done -- although it wouldn't shock me -- but I think the potential for me to deeply regret this trade is minimal.
  11. Obviously Yahoo rankings are based on your vanilla 5x5 shallow league settings. SBs are scarce, y'all.
  12. Desmond probably signs with the Yankees next year and goes on to have several 30 HR campaigns.
  13. King Kitty, the litter box is full again.
  14. You'd legit be better off playing a FA shorstop like Flaherty IMO.
  15. I agree that Desmond can't continue being this bad, although his approach is a mess at the moment and he isn't exactly getting BABIPed. In the end I decided to do the deal primarily to get more SBs, as my team has enough power overall to sustain the dropoff from Desmond to Reyes (assuming Desmond bounces back). I'd rather have Sonny Gray too, although I think it's fairly safe to assume he's in for some ERA regression.
  16. Why bother? Playing no one does less damage than playing a lesser shortstop like Elvis Andrus.
  17. The pending trade in The Darrell Dynasty (7641) has been allowed by the commissioner. 18. Oh man, I'm going to get chirped so hard for this trade.
  19. Jaime Lannister with another boss start today, and actually improved his already ridiculous GB%. Now up to 67%!
  20. Ian Desmond was great though. Hell, I'd take mediocre now!
