  1. Nice pick. He went at #16 in the DDL draft, and I thought even that was a pretty good value. I think I had him Top 10 on my DDL board.
  2. He's 39-27-4 against his division, that's probably part of it. His team would look a lot better with Schwarber healthy and mashing. I'm not sure he'll be able to sustain his W% down the stretch with a team that features Stephen Piscotty as its best hitter.
  3. I think what you're seeing in AA/AAA is what you're going to get with him, he can be an across the board contributor who doesn't kill you in any category. He's no Benintendi, but I think his peak years could be something like Alex Gordon, with a chance to have CF eligibility. I don't expect him to ever be a star, but a player like that has a lot of utility. He projects as a leadoff type hitter and could end up being a great source of runs.
  4. 26 year old journeyman catcher who MLB.com didn't rank in the Yankees Top 30 prospects? That guy?
  5. I'd like to throw in his D alright.
  6. Yeah, let's give one of our biggest rivals an elite hitter for the playoff run. Makes tons of sense. Although the comedic value of watching Rangers fans have to eat s*** and cheer for Bautista would be priceless...
  7. The Cubs have lots of good, expendable young players/prospects - Gleyber Torres, Eloy Jimenez, Ian Happ, Almora - there's no need for them to consider shopping Schwarber for a reliever when they could use their other, lower level assets and still land any reliever they want on the trade market.
  8. I just want what's best for you.
  9. Shelby Miller offer coming your way.
  10. Dude you gotta stop drafting rookie ball guys who aren't elite prospects lol
  11. The only way the Cubs should even consider that is if they're getting both relievers.
  12. Putting every newsworthy item in Around Baseball is f***ing stupid. It's huge and unwieldy.
  13. Pretty surprised that's the best the Cubs could get for Billy Butler 2.0.
  14. Annnnnnd Lake overthrows the cutoff man, AGAIN.
  15. I would bet he gets DFAed after this game. He just cost us two runs.
  16. Terrible throw by Lake. God he's so useless.
  17. I don't see any reason why Jose would do this, let alone the Dodgers. Puig's value has tanked, but they still wouldn't trade him for 2 months of zero range, zero arm Bautista, who we all know needs to be DHing full-time. And why would he do it? It's a lateral move for him, at best, and probably much worse or his numbers and contract, not to mention the emotional aspects. Zero chance Jose would accept that trade or even consider it, and I'm sure he'd be extremely indignant if he was even asked to consider waiving his 10 & 5 rights.

  19. The way JD and EE are hitting, I really don't think it matters who bats around them or where.
