That's what waivers are for. For all you know a non-playoff team will claim him.

It seems to be they think there could be some issues arising from these non-playoff teams then turning around and picking up free agents that are rightly theirs as playoff teams. However, the fatal flaw in that logic is that we can already pick up those players, and they've been picked through many times over already.

Because that's the last day you can make a trade and have it be reflected on your playoff roster? Seems like a pretty clear distinction.

Doesn't bother me if you want to freeze my adds, but if that's the case then you should do it for all non-playoff teams and we specifically decided against that in the past. This is no different than me churning the end of my roster. What I add, P2F drops. It's zero sum.

I disagree. Non-playoff teams aren't locked during the playoffs, they are free to add and drop free agents like anyone else.

For teams who are already eliminated, we can transfer the MLB players using commissioner tools so that the new owners can rosterbate, and it's just less work later on in the Google Doc.

So if John Farrell truly didn't know his coaching staff was stealing signs (a laughable premise, but let's go with this)... then shouldn't he have them all fired immediately? That would be an unspeakable breach of trust and professionalism.
