  1. I believe I offered that soon after I acquired Soto and BTS scoffed it off. I hesitated on pulling the trigger this spring, but I don't like to overreact too much to a small sample. Soto looks like an excellent hitter, but I still think park factors and positional eligibility will make it difficult for me to lose this trade in the long run. Soto will be OF-only and he'll really have to mash to out-earn Rodgers, who has turned it around lately and is poised to be a triple IF eligible dude at Coors. Trevor Story has run a 98 wRC+ and has a .345 wOBA to show for it, and Rodgers projects as a significantly better pure hitter. Both Soto and Rodgers should be excellent dynasty assets going forward. Since the date of the trade Rodgers has gone .339/.379/.508 with substantially improved K and BB rates.
  2. Maybe they just blast their fingers with hairspray between innings
  3. I see those as essentially free agent contracts since most major free agents wouldn't even consider signing in Toronto at the time (also now). None of those contracts that we took on were especially onerous. The Martin and Dickey contracts were also solid value, while the EE and Bautista extensions were straight up slave labour. If you want to talk about dead money (who? Tulo? Big deal), then also please go run a WAR/$ analysis on the extensions that AA signed for EE and Bautista in their prime. It was a shocking, scandalous amount of surplus value. I really don't care what we or the industry thought about Dan Norris at the time, the Jays front office correctly evaluated that he was expendable/high risk. Daniel Norris and Jeff Hoffman both sux ballsack, bud.
  4. Alex Anthopoulos was a good GM, what's your point? The Donaldson trade was arguably the biggest heist of the decade. Anthopoulos gave up absolutely no prospects of consequence in the Price, Marlins, or Tulo trades. The biggest blunder by far was trading Syndergaard, but it's looking like the Donaldson trade will blow that out of the water in terms of net WAR. Anthopoulos was a contract extension genius and routinely stocked the farm with trade chips and blue chippers. We are still reaping the rewards of his good work by way of Vlad.
  5. The Astros had an extensive amount of time to evaluate his durability. The Phillies took a shot on his upside, but ultimately it looks like the Astros had him pegged. He's a poor man's Salazar.
  6. The Giles trade was fine, Velasquez sucks and can't hold up as a starter. The Verlander trade was a steal, the Cole trade was a steal. Sure they have some bad trades, but they also have some robberies.
  7. David Dahl is currently running a 50% K rate. Holy hell that is special.
  8. Chris Veeya nu wave-ah with another dong. Will I regret trading him?
  9. Yeah that one looks super bad in hindsight, as does drafting Mark Appel over Kris Bryant.
  10. Non-prospect at this point. Best case scenario is journeyman utility guy. Doesn't hit enough or have a good enough glove to be a starter, is buried on the depth chart, and is also about to be surpassed by Bichette.
  11. Donaldson's shoulder is f***ed up and needs to be preserved. Get them both reps at 3B/DH, as well as 1B on days when Smoak DHs or sits. Morales DFA, Solarte utility.
  12. I know a bunch of non-prospects drag up the league average age, so I pretty much dismiss out of hand anyone older than 22. I just mean he's 2.5 years younger than your standard Top 100 prospect in AA. Any way you slice it, it's impressive AF.

League average hitter.
  14. His whiff rate is in the Chris Davis range, so that's pretty concerning. I hope he does come around, but Rhys Hoskins he ain't.
  15. I kind of hate you for that trade, even though Tatis has been poopy this year.
  16. I know but it's just kinda sad that The New Matt Olson is actually The Matt Olson That We Originally Thought Matt Olson Was.
  17. I'm drafting for need lolol. Takin armz! Either that or I'll take Tommy La Stella 2.0 (Madrigal).
  18. Recent Notable Teenagers in AA 2018 - Vlad (192 wRC+), Tatis (45 wRC+), Keibert Ruiz (84 wRC+) 2017 - None 2016 - None 2015 - None 2014 - None 2013 - None 2012 - Machado (120 wRC+), Profar (124 wRC+) 2011 - Trout (156 wRC+), Harper (18 yo, 100 wRC+) 2010 - None
  19. Please change your team name to Sexual Healy.
  20. f*** if I know, haven't done one second of research.
  21. If anything the MLBPA would probably be more upset with Vlad for selling his FA years.
