The issue I don't quite understand is that the vaccine doesn't stop spread, whatever caveats I need to give on this are granted (it causes less spread, it stops serious infection, etc.) but bottom line, it doesn't prevent spread. So what does this policy actually accomplish? During the NFL season, Dion Dawkins got Covid twice while vaccinated.

I specifically said I didn't want to alter this thread. Thankful but I tried to bring it up very tangentially as an explanation for potential change in behaviour.

How in God's name did you read snark? I was trying to commend a mod I don't often agree with on doing a stellar job on being even handed and not too strict since the topic at hand is a bit of a powder keg. Page 6 and this thread has been completely uneventful and informative. That doesn't happen organically, unfortunately, and even more impressively, no one is even really complaining of bias very loudly at all. The scenario I laid out wasn't an exaggeration. Hell, a mod even chipped in with one of those takes. I have travelled the internet looking for a new home and even though baseball has almost certainly permanently pissed me off, I can say with a good deal of confidence that there isn't a forum community out there quite like this one and when the mods do a good job, they deserve praise. The lesson is that we should all be grateful for this board and not take it for granted. I also had a kid so maybe you're right about the new leaf thing, not saying it so I can have my balls gargled en masse but it may be relevant to why I may be less of an *******, though this theory has not been peer reviewed.

Is it opinion or fact that it's really f***ing annoying to have to keep talking about this stuff? PS I once joined this other fan forum which also purportedly banned opinionated talk on Covid/vaccines whatever. What happened in practice is that it was cool to call someone a selfish ******* if they don't get the jab and that they are killing grandma, but posts that said things like "maybe the vaccine isn't as effective as it's portrayed to be" got deleted with a warning. As mods, I know it's not easy to remove your own personal bias from deciding which posts are appropriate, so I just want to say you're doing a very good job here, Brando

I don't like MLB. I am disillusioned. What I do like is dunking on the people who made fun of me for years for being a big fan of both Matt Olson and Jesse Winker. The only hesitation I ever had with Winker was because the car accident he was in appeared to sap all his power and there was another potential Greg Bird situation where a great hitter falls apart because of injury. This is the time period my sig is from. Almora was slapping some singles around, getting Dinger Jr. all erect while Jesse Winker was incapable of hitting the ball hard. This was apparently the time to dunk, but in the end I guess they just looked like idiots. Watching them come to terms with their idiocy and trying to pretzel their brains out of it is truly a joy to watch.

Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa off the edge, Joseph-Day and Johnson to help with their bad run D and JC Jackson who is overrated as hell but still pretty good as long as he isn't covering Diggs. I actually think there's 3 that have to be on every list: Halladay, Stieb and Bautista. I can't see an argument for leaving Jose off, he became an icon here. The fourth guy is tough. Alomar didn't play here long but his impact was enormous and he's still involved with the org (unless he did something? Idk. Think I remember him committing some female harrassment/assault, though doesn't detract from him as a player). Delgado, Encarnacion, Donaldson and Tony Fernandez are the other options. Maybe slip George Bell in there too. I'd probably opt for Delgado, personally.

Last time I went to the states, I had to show the border agent proof of vaccination or face quarantine when I came back. She also got very mad that I didn't download some stupid f***ing app on my phone, and said that could also lead to quarantine. I doubt there would be exceptions for athletes. On top of that, even if you have all your s*** in order, they can just "randomly" select people to sumbit a test during which time you are to isolate until receiving the results. I was one but I didn't bother doing it and nothing happened, so take that how you will. I do believe the border rules got more strict a couple days after my trip, though. Well I am and I told my workplace it was none of their f***ing business so I have to submit tests twice a week. Doubt I'm the only one.
