    What does the qualifying offer thread have to do with Johnson signing with the Padres? New threads will bring new traffic and new opinions, this isn't a bad thing.

    I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'd actually be ok with AA giving JJ a qualifying offer.

    I really don't like people altering quotes and keeping the username attached. If you want to alter someone's quote fine, but at least remove the username.

    I realize nobody believed the Dickey trade, I didn't believe it myself. Even with that said I don't believe there's a chance in hell AA would do that deal.

    I don't believe for a second that Bautista wouldn't get us Holland. You seem to undervalue just about every Jays player. I would never trade Bautista for Holland anyway. Just thought I would make that clear.

    Thankfully for us this will never happen, at least not as long as there in St. Pete. Based on what I've read, there's a good chance the Rays payroll will be less than it was this season.

    Agreed. I don't want either one them starting. If I had to choose one, I'd pick Goins over JP.

    I sure wouldn't. This is one of those situations where I would throw WAR out the window. Goins is clearly a better defender, baserunner and much more versatile than JP. Goins will never have the power JP has, but he'll likely talk more walks and have better at bats. I'm not really sure where JP's value comes from but I'm not buying into it. This doesn't mean I want Goins starting, but given the choice between Goins or JP, I'll take Goins every time.

    I'd probably put Drabek and Hutch ahead of Happ. I really don't like the though of him being anywhere near the rotation next year.
