  1. Phillies make sense to me. I'm going with them.
  2. I admit I have a horrible memory, but I believe we won quite a few extra games in April due to his bat and some very clutch hits. Devon Travis had nothing to do with the Blue Jays struggling a bit in the first half of the season.
  3. Can you do that for the NL now? I'm way too lazy.
  4. Not much in life is guaranteed, but O'Day to the Jays is not happening. Unless Bautista gets traded I guess.
  5. I'd prefer Edwin to Washington for Strasburg, but this could make a nice plan B. Then we sign Chris Davis.
  6. @Buster_ESPN: Home runs the last four years for the St. Louis first basemen, combined: 78. Chris Davis: 159. He would help fix their power issues. Hmmm, who could the Jays convince to waive a no trade clause to go to St Louis who also plays first base and has power. Now what pitcher could we get back?
  7. Yup, he certainly doesn't look the part. My point though is that removing Beeston is a major upgrade.
  8. I'm a AA fan boy...but Shapiro/Lacava combo has to better then Beeston/AA combo. I think that's where a lot of the excitement around here comes from.
  9. Trading Bautista after the post season he just had would be a hard sell to the fan base. I think signing him for 3 years isn't a huge risk, the guys in amazing shape, I don't think he will fall off a cliff. EE on the other hand is becoming an injury risk and now is the time to move him, if the return is worth it of course.
  10. I agree, at first I was on AAs side, but now I've completely shifted. I wish we could just know the truth! The whole 5 year contract with an opt out after year one sounds legit to me and makes AA look like a bitch for turning it down. He should have given the job a shot for one year, but that's just my uninformed opinion.
  11. I'm certain I have read it a few times. Not sure exactly where, sorry.
  12. If Shapiro is apparently allowed to bring 2 of his people with him....I wonder if that could include Brantley
  13. Wow! Nice...I might be able to get on the Shapiro bandwagon.
  14. Is EE really still at 10 mil. That's insane! I thought he went to 15 this year. Biggest loss with AA is his ability to sign guys to great contracts.
  15. If the guy doesn't like free agents, and he doesn't like trading prospects (which I agree with this year as we have traded enough away for now), how does he plan on building a pitching staff this year? Stroman Dickey ....... ........ Osuna/hutch/Sanchez battle it out for 5th starter. I'd say trade EE for someone like Starsburg.....won't happen as EE won't waive no trade. Trade hutch and Sanchez for Carrasco?....won't happen. Reign Estrada?....maybe. And if Dickey is our #2 we are in trouble. Heck, Stroman is my favourite player but he shouldn't be our #1.
  16. I feared Cleveland would win the wild card this year, then ride their rotation to the World Series....I hope Shapiro had something to do with that rotation and can build us one just like it in one off season, we will win 100 games.
  17. I understand this was AAs decision, but Shapiro needed to find a way to keep him on board, even just for a year. This kills the momentum built up with the fans. Shapiro starts on Monday with a noose dangling lightly around his neck. The pitch forks will come out fast if he messes up even slightly. Not a good position to be in.
  18. I Ouch! And to think at the time there was a rumour MLB was going to squash the trade, and every writer in baseball was saying we raped the Marlins.
  19. AA is done with bad seeds, so no Latos. And no way O'day should be added to this team, unless you want a club house brawl.
  20. I almost didn't start a new thread for pitching, but I think it's the major focus of the offseason so deserved its own.
  21. Can't believe in tier 5, Rich Hill is who I'd me most interested in taking a shot at! Crazy.
  22. Well done on the edit.
  23. Yup, I accidentally deleted a pitcher and didn't notice who it was....it was him! Good eye.
