    IIRC the Phillies would not include him in the Halladay deal and AA finally got him soon after he was traded to the Astros. Edit - just looked it up and Happ took Brett Cecil’s rotation spot!! How old am I???

    Here’s my twisted scenario. Space on 40 man opened for Happ / Tepera / Solarte BLOCKBUSTER!!! with the Yanks as they want as many starts as possible after Sonny’s dog-vomit outing today. Happ starts against the Jays this weekend and gets lit up by Clint n Teoscar, the new buddy duo for the millennial generation. Just my two cents.

I’m not saying it’s going to happen, but if they have some $$$ to “buy” some extra prospects or improve quality, then a value-driven FO could add a ton of potential to the top of our system. Then if you trade one or two of the 2 and 3 year control guys (plus a healthy, driven JD), this rebuild could accelerate.
