Johnny Cueto and Francisco Liriano both hail from the Dominican Republic. There is something significant about this, as this is the 3rd time in postseason history where two DR starters face off. The feat was achieved twice by Pedro Martinez and Bartolo Colon in 1999 and 2004. Pirates: Ever since the Pirates hit the 70 win mark, things started to regress a bit, going .500 the rest of the way (24-24). They did, however, make a strong statement at the end of the year winning 5 of their final 6 games of the season. The Pirates had the upper hand this season, going 11-8 against the Reds. They were 5-4 at PNC Park vs. the Reds. Francisco Liriano has been lights out this season at home, going 8-1 with a 1.47 ERA Reds: Johnny Cueto has had great success in his career against the Pirates. Actually great is an understatement, he went 13-4 with a 2.37 ERA in 21 starts against Pittsburgh with an even better line at PNC Park of 8-2 with a 1.90 ERA. Standings: http://i.imgur.com/XiQtjDh.png Venue: http://www.andrewclem.com/Baseball/Diag/PNCPark.gif I hope you guys enjoy the postseason and the GDT! Please leave feedback and ideas/improvements for future GDTs!

Rays: Price has a very unfavorable matchup against the Rangers, as he's owned a 1-7 record and a 5.57 ERA in 11 starts against Texas. Has been money lately though, spinning a 2.73 ERA in his last 4 starts and a 2.71 ERA in road games from the past 10 games. The Rays' hottest hitter has to be their franchise player, Evan Longoria. The All-Star third baseman is hitting .360 with two homers and nine RBIs in his last six games Rangers: Texas received home field advantage for edging Tampa out 4-3 in the season series this year Rangers are activating OF Nelson Cruz after serving his 50-game suspension for PED use following the Biogenises scandal. The Rangers have good numbers against Price. Nelson Cruz has has gone 9/21 against the lefty with 3 long balls. Teammates Elvis Andrus (11/27), former Jay Alex Rios (9/26, 2 long balls) and Adrian Beltre (9/26, 1 long ball) also have put up good numbers against Price. Rookie Martin Perez is tasked with keeping the Rangers postseason hopes alive. The rookie southpaw is having a great end to the season, yeilding a 3.26 ERA mark in his last 10 starts and is coming off a strong start against the Astros going 7 innings wiffing 8 along the way. This is his first career start versus the Rays. Standings: http://i.imgur.com/8v3hgWq.png Venue: http://www.andrewclem.com/Baseball/Diag/ArlingtonStadium.gif I hope you guys enjoy the postseason and the GDT! Please leave feedback and ideas/improvements for future GDTs!
  9. lol I'm trying to provide maximum enjoyment without me dying What about a daily GDTs? I can reserve x amount of posts before the game (like reserve 4 posts if its 4 games that day) and I'll have the info at least 1 hour before the game starts I can have reserved posts which I can update when the lineups come out. I think lineups also come out faster during the postseason vs. regular season too so that will help the timing.
  10. Great! Thanks for the suggestion! I'll keep the lineups and I'll just provide the facts that are need-to-know Nice! A's >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Perfect, thanks for the suggestion!
  11. Hello all! I'm your friendly neighborhood GDT maker and I wanna know how you guys want me to make the GDTs for this years postseason! What are you games are you guys interested in? Personally I'm going to follow most of the postseason (Go A's!) but I'm stumped as to how the GDTs will be made. Do you guys want one GDT of all games per day, or on giant GDT per series (I'll update the matchups/lineups as we go)? Do you want AL and NL only threads or a mix? Do you guys want some sort of separate daily wrapup threads too (as in Highlights, box scores, and WPA graphs) or have them embedded in the specific game thread? Will you guys watch the first Rangers/Rays tiebreaker? Hell, will you guys even watch this years postseason enough to require GDTs? I know these are tonnes of questions, but I just want to just maximize your GDT experience . Also on a side note is there anything you guys want me to change about my normal GDTs that I make? Something to add/remove/expand? I'll read it all! Thank ya!
  12. Where do you think you're going??? You think this place isn't active during the winter?
  13. To be fair the OP isn't here so there wasn't any reply to the ~3 serious posts. All people are obsessed with is this hivemind thing
  14. Yeah same here, work (but really only August killed me because of the CNE). Haha I am the opposite of you, I did like 10 hours but the person put 40 ^^. Yeah same, Friends + sports limited my posts to GDTs, I wasn't really active in other discussions. Yeah lets make Jedi Council! I call being Jedi Master Moo! Edit: Can I just be Sith actually?
  15. What's this, why are you taking my post and making it into some drama reality show thing? "Council of Elders"? Really? This is an internet discussion board bro lol
  16. haha you're right I do have my mod cap on tonight! Thanks man! When I was posting in the summer (before I stopped recently) you weren't posting much either (due to work right?) so nice to see you posting too! ;P If you're going to go writing a paragraph response to small issues like this people are only going to piss you off even more.
  17. lol from where did you get this assumption?
  18. No offence but maybe you should. I'm not saying you should leave, but if you're going to find things like this offensive and start getting all keyboard warrior mode on everyone then maybe this isn't the best place for you as you're going to be doing this rather often. Once again I'm not telling you to leave, I'm not trying to scare people from the forum away, but if you're going to continue wasting a lot of energy on small, non-topic related arguments such as what's happening here, you're going to be more angry than happy browsing this site.
  19. Oh I agree, I'm just looking at things as #162 rolls around. We obviously need serious work aspects of the team. But it's safe to say that if the relief is replicated, and Bautista doesn't decline that much, starting would be the only big problem. Obviously though it doesn't hurt to add an actual 2B, LF and one more relief pitcher (to replace Oliver) along with two front-of-the-rotation starters
  20. I'mma put my moderator cap on and help to put the train back on it's rails. Well there is a lot of positivety coming from the offensive side of the ball, which is really encouraging. But our problem has to be starting. RA Dickey has finally started to look like a #3 instead of a #5... which is a giant step forward from 1st half Dickey. Mark B did his thing as usual, he was really consistent and (up until his last start) injury free. But who do we have after that? Johnson and Morrow, the glass brothers? Ricky I-can't-pitch-because-Rima-Fakih-left-me Romero? At least Drabek is back and Hutchinson is ready for 2014 (I believe). If we fix that our team is good to go. Now by fixing that I mean we need to give up a lot of money. From what I can see, we have 2 #3s (MB+Dickey) and 2 fragile #3s (JJ+Morrow) and 2 wildcards (Drabek+Hutch). We need 2 front of the rotation pitching, and we're good. The BP + offence is solid.
