    Exactly. This is probably going to be worse than what the Jays did IMO, because at least we're not locked into this type of a contract. They're obviously going to start trading for other aging big-contract players by moving farm players, and you're going to get another Jays situation.

    Because this is just the beginning. The M's have WAY too many holes for just the FA to fix. They also just signed 31 year old cano. 31. The window of his prime is closing quickly. Since the FA market won't fill their various needs for a catcher, first baseman, and their entire outfield, they will have to go the trade route. AA isn't the only manager to make stupid moves when he has a plethora of prospects.

    This is not called going all in. This is called destroying a franchise by rushing s***. What the f*** does Cano bring to the team in the next few years? The dude went from a lefty-launching pad to an offencive deadzone. His numbers will plummet, and Seattle will only be a .500 team. They still have holes all over the place... next thing you know, Seattle will start trading their prospects so they can do well before Cano starts declining.

Hill had multiple good seasons, and even when he was s***, had two good skillsets: Defense and Baserunning Hill was destroyed by Murphy's "Pull dat ball" mindset instead of being the line drive hitter he was. Arencibia is the same (and he was improving at some point) since coming from AAA, and not once (excluding his career debut) did I think he was good. Hill was a GG caliber All-Star, Arencibia is a twitter allstar
