Jays: Hendricks went 1-0 with a 2.31 ERA in two starts for Toronto last month, and he's 6-0 with a 1.92 ERA in 12 games - 10 starts - in the minors. As of Thursday, the Blue Jays had held sole possession of first place in the American League East for 28 consecutive days. The last time they were in first for that long was in 1993. Encarnacion is 8 for 20 with three doubles and that homer over the last five games. Reds: Latos is 0-2 with a 6.45 ERA in four games since compared to a 5-0 record and 3.15 ERA over his last seven home starts against AL opponents. His only start against the Blue Jays was a home victory with San Diego on June 15, 2010, in his first full season in the majors. Cincinnati's Joey Votto has hit safely in all nine games since returning from a strained quadriceps, going 12 for 36 with eight RBIs. Cincinnati's bullpen entered its 4-3 series-finale loss to the Pirates on Thursday with a 5.65 ERA in its previous five games. But the Reds bullpen kept the team in the game as starter Homer Bailey exited after 5 2/3 innings. Cincinnati held Pittsburgh scoreless over the next six innings, but finally relinquished a run in the bottom of the 12th. Jays: Hutchison has been good lately, throwing seven or more scoreless innings in three of his last four games away from home. He's 4-1 with a 1.79 ERA in nine road outings compared to a 1-3 mark and 8.72 ERA in five home starts. T.O. has been outscored 10-4 while dropping the first two games in this series. The Blue Jays have hit just four homers while averaging 2.2 runs and dropping eight of 11 overall. They had averaged 5.3 runs per game during a 20-4 stretch. Yankees: Phelps yielded two hits over 6.2 innings in a 7-0 win at Oakland on Friday after posting a 6.57 ERA in four straight losses. Brian McCann matched a career high with five RBIs, connecting on his eighth homer and his first triple since 2009. He had been batting .154 over his previous 11 games with one extra-base hit. Derek Jeter is hitting .406 over his last eight games with seven runs scored and recorded his 533rd double to pull within one of Lou Gehrig for the most by a Yankee. Jays: Buehrle gave up four runs over 6.1 innings Thursday in a 4-2 defeat in Baltimore, surrendering a homer for the second consecutive start after allowing two through his first 12. The left-hander will be up against the club that has given him the most trouble in his 15-year career. He is 1-10 in 16 starts against New York with a 6.02 ERA - his worst against any opponent. Toronto left fielder Melky Cabrera is hitting .324 during a 17-game hitting streak against New York, the club with which he spent his first five seasons, however Toronto is last in the AL in runs (21) and batting average (.218) since June 7 after finishing with six hits Tuesday. Toronto led by six games May 6th after winning for the 20th time in 24 contests, but that edge was down to 3 1/2 over the Yankees and Baltimore after a 4-2 loss to the Orioles on Thursday left it with a 1-5 mark in the previous six games. Yankees: Whitley seeks to capture his third straight start and win for the first time at home. Whitley, a right-hander who has never faced Toronto, allowed two runs over 7 2-3 innings Thursday in a 6-3 victory at Seattle. Yankees center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury had his 17-game hitting streak snapped in Saturday's loss in Oakland, marking the end of the longest active streak in the Majors at the time. Tanaka struck out 10 over six innings to become baseball's first 11-game winner Tuesday in a 3-1 victory that pulled New York within 3.5 games of Toronto. Jays: Stroman looks to get back on the winning track following a decent effort in his last start. The right-hander was trying to win for the third time in as many starts since moving into the rotation, but allowed three runs in six innings of a 7-2 loss to Minnesota on Wednesday. Stroman has pitched six innings in each start, giving up five total runs. The Jays totaled 15 runs in the previous eight contests. Toronto is averaging 4.70 runs, among the most in the majors. Toronto led by six games May 6th after winning for the 20th time in 24 contests, but that edge was down to 3 1/2 over the Yankees and Baltimore after a 4-2 loss to the Orioles on Thursday left it with a 1-5 mark in the previous six games. Yankees: Tanaka continued to roll with his second career complete game in a 4-2 victory at Seattle on Wednesday. The right-hander struck out a season high-tying 11 in winning his fourth consecutive start. The Yanks look to avoid a third straight loss. The Yankees had won four in a row before dropping their last two at Oakland by a combined 15-6 score. New York starters had allowed two or fewer earned runs in nine of 10 games prior to the past two; Ichiro Suzuki had two hits Sunday and has batted .355 in his last 11 contests. Jays: J.A. Happ will try to improve his efficiency after requiring 89 pitches to get through 3.2 innings of a 4-0 loss to Minnesota on Tuesday. He was charged with three earned runs, six hits and three walks. Happ gave up a solo homer to the currently-injured Matt Wieters while throwing 2.2 innings of relief in Toronto's 10-8 loss to Baltimore on April 23. He's 0-1 with a 2.65 ERA in three career starts against the Orioles. The first-place Blue Jays have dropped six of eight while homering just three times and averaging 1.9 runs per game. Brett Lawrie and Melky Cabrera - third and fourth on the club in RBIs - have driven in only one run each in that stretch while going a combined 2 for 11 with runners in scoring position. Orioles: Tillman comes off a loss despite limiting Boston to one run over six innings in Tuesday's 1-0 defeat. It marked Tillman's first losing decision in six starts even though he posted a 7.71 ERA in the first five of those games. The Orioles rotation owns a 2.95 ERA over the last 16 contests. 13. Good that this is happening. I'm not involved as much as I used to in GDTs or in other forums so I can't say that I've seen a lot of what you're talking about as it happens, but yeah s*** gets 1v1 personal in the forum. Take that s*** to the PM or meet up at Yonge and Bloor or some s*** lol just stop polluting the forum.

Jays: In Monday's 5-4 win over Minnesota, Dickey surrendered two runs and five hits over 5 1-3 innings and didn't earn the decision. The knuckleballer hasn't been quite as fortunate against Baltimore since joining Toronto prior to last season, compiling an 0-2 record and 6.93 ERA in four starts. Juan Francisco homered but is 2 for 19 over his last eight games. Edwin Encarnacion went 0 for 4 to fall into a 2-for-26 hole while Jose Reyes saw his season-best 12-game hitting streak come to an end. The dangerous Toronto lineup, which leads baseball with 92 home runs, has shown few recent signs of covering for any pitching deficiencies. Over the last seven games, the Blue Jays have managed 13 runs while batting .199. Orioles: Norris turned in his strongest and most efficient outing of the season in Monday's 4-0 win over Boston, coming up an inning shy of his first career shutout or complete game because of a blister. He allowed three hits while walking three and striking out six in eight innings. The Orioles were shut out for the second time in four games and had their three-game winning streak in the series derailed. The Orioles' pitching staff had gone 43 innings without allowing a home run before Toronto third baseman Juan Francisco hit a two-run homer in the second inning on Friday. Manny Machado, who is available as his appeal of a five-game suspension remains unresolved, went 3 for 4 to end a 1-for-20 skid. Chris Davis, however, went 0 for 4 and is 3 for 26 over seven games. Jays: After tossing seven scoreless innings in his previous outing, Hutchison lasted a season-low three innings Sunday against St. Louis and allowed five runs and six hits in a 5-0 loss. It was another poor performance at home for Hutchison, who is 1-3 with an 8.72 ERA in Toronto compared to 3-1 with a 2.03 ERA in eight road starts. Jose Bautista has reached base safely in 65 of 68 games, hitting safely in 51 of those contests Toronto's offense, hasn't been nearly that productive lately, scoring nine runs and batting .208 while losing five of six. Orioles: Jimenez, who ranks among the major league leaders with 40 walks in 70 innings and is 0-5 with a 7.04 ERA in six home starts, turned in his shortest start of the season, lasting 2.1 innings and yielding six runs and five walks. Machado entered Wednesday hitless in his last 15 at-bats. Pearce entered Wednesday's game with a .314/.352/.523 slash line in 86 at-bats this season. The Orioles, are batting .313 with runners in scoring position during a 12-game span and lead the majors with 17 homers in June.
