Yeah and AA let a bunch of good talent go to the Astros for Happ and an even better group go to the Marlins for what should have been a salary dump. AA had lots of moronic trades that were really saved by his last year of acquiring Travis, Donaldson, Tulo and Price.
My point is exactly like what you said -- instead of developing CY young talent he traded for it. Instead of developing cheap talent to be our core he rushed to trade instead for "now" solutions. It's not that they didn't believe in the players -- I'd say more it's their philosophy was to treat prospects more of currency than actual potential solutions. How many players in general are homegrown from under AA are on the roster? I think we've had more under JPR. You have Sanchez, Stroman, Pompey, Loup, Barnes, Dermondy, Osuna, Shultz? Only this from all his years here? I think we'll see prospects being kept more here than we saw when AA was in charge
