  1. I don't think I said fans had a say. Lame duck President & GM for 1+ years, that's not good.
  2. Since his MLB debut and IP to allow him to be included, he's 36th of 137 in FIP for RP. IMO, not elite but very good. And with a 30+ year old Santos being on a team with a 2nd tier payroll, getting paid 5 or 6m per... it's time to move on and allocate those funds elsewhere.
  3. Looking realistically at the 2013 & 2014 teams, neither for me was a lock for the playoffs, wildcard included. With luck on their side, beyond what other teams, sure. But on paper and how they had played in the past with luck equalled out....not a chance.
  4. Seeing as a base hit is based purely on the batter & luck, does this mean the construction of a team should focus solely on a stacked lineup and superb defence and the pitching staff can be the last spots to allocate money?
  5. Because the answers JFaS provides have a feeling of, this is the answer and there is no other. Yet projection systems are just that....a projection. If projections were 100% accurate then every player in baseball should play exactly like the projections systems say, but they don't. So no one should be acting like a projections systems, projection is 100% the final answer.
  6. If Kris Medlen didn't get hurt Santana would've been a Blue Jay.
  7. Sadly I think you're correct. There isn't a vision for the future, everything is about the now.
  8. Mariners have 40m+ of financial breathing room?
  9. Take Bautista for example. I know people hate moving players to Division rivals. But why should Alex be gunshy about making Bautista publically available and looking at the Red Sox (Betts, Jackie Bradley, Blake Swihart, Rafael Devers) Yankees (Banuelos, Gary Sanchez, Mason Williams, lower level IFA's....etc) Texas (Ronald Guzman, Brinson, Odor, Alfaro) Dodgers (Joc Pederson, Zach Lee, Urias, Seager). You trade short term pain, for long term gain. If the Jays wanna remain a short term try, down years type team, they're going to continue to alienate building a solid fanbase.
  10. I believe MLB looks at every transaction involving cash.
  11. I don't want them to tear it down either. Unless you think trading a couple major pieces is "tearing it down"? I see no reason why Bautista and/or Edwin couldn't be moved to contenders for very, very good prospects or young players each. Or are you content with Bautista & Edwin playing out their 30's with us and getting nothing in return?
  12. What was your mood, based on the organization's moves before the Happ trade?
  13. What's wrong with pretty much doing a Dickey trade, but we're on the receiving end of youth.
  14. Or what most of the fans want. They build this emotional relationship with the players, like they're f***ing them and going on dates, and there's no way they'll permit Alex to move them for fear of losing their imaginary friends. It's sickening.
  15. I'd prefer a re-tool of the team. Because a fire sale and the same f***ing plan of building a studly farm and then trading that studly farm for old, expensive, broken, molested players won't work a second time or 14 millionth time.
  16. May as well keep running with this crew until they retire or opt for free agency. Then like a typical Jays fan turn on the tears or start getting mad because they didn't do anything, when anyone with a brain could see this team is clearly not a contender on paper, has very little in the way of stud prospects on the way and is apparently at their max payroll, so can't take on any money via a trade. You sir/ma'am are brilliant.
  17. What's that mean?
  18. I think a call like this would come from above Gibby.
  19. It should help my one fantasy team. I'm just looking to get innings.
  20. And to think even kids from a little league team can take better instruction than Sierra.
  21. I read an article this past off season where the Padres said there was heavy interest in Denorfia, but all the offers were falling way short.
  22. I don't think anyone's saying Gose will out hit Rasmus. But man, paying Rasmus what he should probably get, isn't worth it for a 2nd tier CF.
  23. Eh, even if Gose isn't efficient at stealing. I'd much rather have him patrolling CF for us going forward at LG MIN than doling out a 15+m per year for 4+ years to Rasmus.
