  1. Odd that you've sought out to watch some McCarthy starts....a #4 IMO but don't want your summer to slip away by watching Jays games that are on for free pretty much every day.
  2. Who is a HOF bound 3B with a giant mole on his ear?
  3. A bunch of other teams also shut out.
  4. The A's weren't going to the playoffs before the trade?
  5. Baez as a buy low? He's doing what he's done at every level. Struggled to start and improved every month thereafter.
  6. Manny & Ortiz obliterate Jose & Edwin. Manny's arguably one of the greatest RHH of all time. And Ortiz was a machine early in his Sox career. Jose & Edwin are neither.
  7. I really hope the Jays don't pay Rasmus what I think he's gonna/should get.
  8. You think I'm joking? I understand what the A's did and why they did it. I prefer the Cubs side all things considered.
  9. And Colon's name thrown into the mix. Nothing like another expensive 40+ year old who doesn't do f*** all.
  10. I'm aware of all that. But if I was choosing what side I liked better, I'm not picking short term assets past their primes, while having career years.
  11. That's my preference. I f***ing hate old, expensive players and teams. Sorry that you do.
  12. I'd take the Cubs side easily.
  13. For Jason Hammel no doubt, because man this guy is pitching lights out for the first time in his career. Alex likes pumping the fans up with players he traded when they were their best.
  14. So like McGowan?
  15. As long as we're not ridiculously overpaying for old players with prospects and still no guarantee to make the playoffs.
  16. I'd rather not use Chavez as a comp' who's showing for the first time he can pitch as a SP. If he does this again next year then I'll cut him some slack.
  17. Wasn't there talk Utley would refuse a trade?
  18. If you look past the long term commitment of say 6 or 7 years and think at some point we could trade this pitcher/player. Why not take the plunge? IMO it's a way better alternative than dealing top prospects and trying to extend 30- 30+ year old pitchers who are looking for 4 & 5 year extensions. As for current payroll? Rasmus better be gone, Morrow could be gone, incoming TV money of what 25m, big money coming off old player contracts in subsequent years. How can't they afford that going forward?
  19. Instead of making a push this year I'd rather see the Jays be patient in 2014 and instead make a hard push for Kenta Maeda when he gets posted & keep the farm intact. I still don't understand why the Jays have their 5 year contract limit in place. It's not like they're prevented from trading a player in year 3 or 4 if they ink them to a 7 year deal to avoid full risk.
  20. They shouldn't?
  21. I'd rather Norris and Sanchez finish the year off in the minors within the Jays organization.
  22. I could handle Gose batting 9th and starting in CF, come 2015.
  23. I'd be throwing out Pillar's 2011 & 2012 numbers in the minors being used here. He was ridiculously old for the levels during those years to even consider them worthy of counting.
