It would be like ignoring the possibility of signing either Donaldson or Stanton to extensions. I'd rather be paying a player huge money in his prime opposed to pretty big money in his 33-38 years.

As much as I hate to think this. With the insight Hurl has given on ownership looking to sell the team more than trying to win, is so true. Lawrie's "Canadianness can't be measured, it's off the charts for importance. The FO would mimic the catholic church by having tercet walking up & down the aisles with a collections plate looking for handouts from the fans to sign Martin.

I actually like the Jays team with what they have going into 2015 over what they had this year. Moving Lawrie, Norris and Sanchez for JD, doesn't do the team any favours by having a declining asset, getting paid. The three players who would be getting paid close to LG min for the next bunch of years is an even bigger bargain. And seeing as we have a FO with a major weakness in building a team using the funds given, and an ownership who believes/spouts off that Toronto is a big market team, but fails to put up a definitive big market payroll, none of this is looking good for the future. The future would be grim. Yep he plays for the City of citizens you remind me of.

Winning what? The Jays weren't making the WC game or taking the pennant with Donaldson this year. And honestly, how are the Jays going to afford to pay Donaldson. They couldn't do anything financially all year. Hamstrung with ridiculous contracts they traded for, unwilling to take money on, or at best lateral financial moves. And now you're trading young, cost-controlled assets for Donaldson, a declining bat who is gonna get PAID for what he's done and not what he'll do.

Are you talking Fantasy or real baseball? Because you mentioned "cheaper".

I have a strategy (end game) and it doesn't involve overpaying ever/often to make a huge push for the now. Unlike most Fantasy managers I'm patient and don't have this insatiable need to contend ASAP. And maybe the comments made in regards to my youth were directed at my entire team being young and some of the players I roster not contributing right away thus dealing a huge blow to my chance of competing.

When did I say I would cut them off? All I'm saying is, it's very odd people would ridicule me for going young and chose themselves to go old, but then want the same young players they were ridiculing me for owning.

When a comment is made about my DDL team and I ignore the part about how the Jays are managed and address the DDL comment, how is that not related?
