    No question they waited too long on JD. My view is as soon as you decide a player is not in future plans (due to age, contention window, unlikely to resign, or whatever), then trade ASAP. Simply too much risk of injury in baseball, including through offseason training.

    It depends on information only the Jays have, namely, how receptive Bo is to extension talks. Without a doubt, the Jays have attempted to talk extension.

    Justin Turner is a good geezer, played 57 innings at 3B in 2023, after 507 innings for the Dodgers in 2022. Not saying he should be the regular 3B, but if the internal options suck, he might be an acceptable fallback, especially if the Jays replace Bo with a Hoerner or Swanson at SS

    If the Jays have intel that says Bo is not going to sign long term, then cashing in now would make sense. A Crime Dog and Tony F type of deal. But Greene and the Baez contract not enough for Bo, that's for sure
