  1. And? That money doesn't count towards the cap, it's already been applied during the 10 years of service.
  2. Why would they be?
  3. Defeatist attitude. Get into the postseason, then anything can happen. Good chance Glasnow, Kershaw, and 1 other Dodgers SP are on the IL come next October.
  4. The big question is - how much money is deferred?
  5. Dodgers rotation: Glasnow Yamamoto Buehler Miller Yarbrough/Sheehan They have a standing offer to Kershaw. Kershaw accepts, Sheehan likely to AAA which is nuts.
  6. Can a mod put a daily post limit? Or is a ban the only option?
  7. There is a chance Martinez dominates AAA and improves his defence sufficiently to negate a need for a 3B.
  8. It destroys your suggestion the Jays should save their cash and wait until next year.
  9. I don't mine the free agent system. Big market teams generally are worse off for it. Teams should have a relative equal chance at newcomers to MLB. Also not a fact of life, but something that can be revised.
  10. There must be a better way though. The current posting system heavily favours the richer teams.
  11. Toronto is not the most desirable location. Forgoing whats available now and taking their chances on what *might* be available next offseason is probably not prudent. One, two, or even all four of those potential free agents after the 2024 season may be signed before the Jays can even make an offer.
  12. I don't think the Jays have the luxury of punting 2024
  13. I hope every other team out there is thinking like the Giants writer.
  14. Ah, spring training, mirage galore
  15. Espinal is a nothing burger (kind of guy that gets traded for cash, AS appearance notwithstanding) and Martinez is not ready It's really Biggio, Schneider and Barger
  16. I don't have the same trepidations. In addition the Jays are pretty free of bad contracts, have a rich owner, and well positioned to take some risk.
  17. Hate the idea of 2 roster spots for 2 very flawed players Bellinger would mean 3 CF capable OF, and Biggio is fine as a 4th OF. Would allow to sign Teo or trade for someone like Eloy as a DH only
  18. Biggio has provided 2.2 WAR / 162 games, with a 105 wRC+ over that time period You dumn
  19. Not me. He had an injury in 2023 and got BABIP'ed .268 Machado would be my pick to age like a Big Papi or Boomstick
  20. Machado, Kim, and Merrill + cash for Bo and Manoah
  21. At least Jays24 is not saying KK > Bellinger like a certain someone
  22. Do whatever floats your boat mate. No one here is judgemental
