  1. Say anything about Osuna... where he will play, etc?
  2. the only way this makes sense is Izturis recovery not going well
  3. anyway nobody worry, my obsession is nowhere near the level of the gruber-goins lovefest
  4. Of course they don't. The reason this came up is, do you fill an open spot in Buffalo with Kawa or Berti?
  5. Berti's defense is reported to be elite and he has more speed than Goins. Berti likely has similar hands, footwork, and more range. At the plate probably closer to a wash although Berti's minor stats tend to show higher OBP and slugging compared to Goins. We will see. Expect Berti to get a long look at ST.
  6. I agree with the above ranking, at the plate. Berti though plays elite defense and can play 3b, ss, 2b, and OF.... combined with 70 grade speed is a better bench piece then Kawa or Goins.
  7. Travis > Izturis > Berti > Goins > Kawa
  8. Halladay at time of trade better than any FA on market
  9. d'Arnaud gonna be good and was actually considered the best prospect of the three (Drabek and Taylor the others)
  10. Kawa is s*** replacement level depth and no room for him at Buffalo.
  11. Drabek talented too.... he was rushed.... not 1 inning of AAA ball, although that was cuz of Vegas pitcher horrorshow
  12. At the plate Kawa > Berti > Goins In the field Goins = Berti > Kawa On the basepaths Berti > Goins > Kawa Overall Berti > Kawa = Goins IMO!
  13. Agree. Kawa's days with Jays are over. Goins and Berti in Buffalo are both better options. Berti can play multiple positions.
  14. Aquilino Lopez was the last Rule 5 RP they Jays drafted and kept on the roster for the year? That was in 2003.
  15. Norris and/or Sanchez are not in the 2015 rotation unless there is an injury. And there will be an injury to at least one SP. MB and Happ are both in the final year of their contract. Provided they continue to pitch well in 2015, including in their stints with the Jays, Sanchez and Norris replace MB and Happ for 2016.
  16. Another consideration for signing Shields or McCarthy..... MB comes off the books after 2015, Dickey is another year older (and standoffish). Just watching a guy like Shields go about his business both on and off the field will help guys like Stroman, Sanchez, Norris, Osuna, Hoffman, etc reach their potential.
  17. For sure.... but the 2013 version would be great there. Whoever is in the 2hole is going to get a lot of pitches to hit.
  18. Reyes and whoever bats 2nd better be ready to hit the ball. No pitcher in baseball is going to want to walk them, not with Bautista, EE, and Donaldson (in whatever order) coming up. 2013 Rasmus would be killer in the 2hole.
  19. I'm a Sanchez booster. I see him as a future front line starter. But history is rife with examples of pitchers rushed to the bigs too early. Sanchez needs to start 2015 in Buffalo and dominate. If that happens, THEN move Happ to fill a hole on the roster or replace an injured starter.
  20. nope you realize that Happ in Buffalo would have a line like 16-5, and 2.10 ERA, right? Happ > Sanchez as a MLB starter at this point in time
  21. Happ has better 2014 stats as a MLB starter than Sanchez in Buffalo. Case closed. Sanchez 2014 SSS bullpen results notwithstanding.
  22. Tough to say between Sanchez and Happ. If you are suggesting moving Happ and putting Sanchez in his place, the Jays then have very little SP depth. Of course, can stick a journeyman or two in Buffalo, but in a contending year having a Sanchez and Norris in Buffalo is great depth for both the SP and the bullpen. And we know a couple of pitchers are going to get injured or s*** the bed.
  23. He can off the bench. Agree he is a mediocre fielder but his versatility off the bench is valuable.
  24. Agree and besides the time to invest in a MIF is after 2015 when Izturis contract runs out. And Reyes has to split SS with DH starting 2016.
