    He walked a ton yes but he had the pitching arsenal to get out of it a lot of times. Some luck yes, but also a reflection of his talent. It is very common for young, talented pitchers to struggle with control when they first come to MLB. Sanchez' upside was quite evident last year. What no one could predict was the speed at which he would start reaching his ceiling.

    3rd and 4th links are for 2015. my perception is less highlight reel catches in 2016 compared to 2015 and this may influence voters. perception could be wrong

    True. Haven't seen as many highlight reel catches from Pillar this year. Also, voters may be inclined to reward Desmond for the excellent season he is having.

    The craziest ones are the ones that have been here the longest, and BTS has certainly been around these parts (and the previous parts) a LONG time.

    What's wrong with a teleconference, or a videoconference? Maybe there is a golf course in the area that Atkins likes.

    Depends on the medical advice and I am sure they have a lot. Perhaps the injury risk is more acute when the pitcher goes out there before the arm has fully recovered from the previous outing? So the longer the time between starts the more likely the arm is fully recovered.

    Agreed, although effort level and mechanics likely far exceed #pitches or #IP for injury risk. Edit - with Sanchez for the Jays it was never about #IP, but how he feels, rebounds, results. Hence the long meeting the other day. Likely another one after next start.

    Where is Barnes on Blue Jay prospect lists? Don't recall seeing his name on any. With the value of relievers in MLB, surprising.
