    Point 1 is false. JB and EE were core parts of the playoff teams. And to a lesser extent, younger and healthier Martin and Tulo. Point 2 is virtually meaningless. Only a handful of games have been played. Point 3, ok, but then a lot of knowledgeable baseball folks have expressed skepticism about the Jays chances.

    But the Astros could lose Altuve, or the Yankees Stanton, or the Sox Betts... and they still are strong contenders. A lot has to go right for this Jays team to contend. Chances are, they won't.
