    Gore is unlikely or never-gonna-happen, but in any event with a farm as deep as the Padres, quantity works. Along with the aforementioned Allen and Baez, getting one of the deeper guys like Rosario, Ornelas, Edwards would be an excellent haul

    Would the use of an opener for 2 of the rotation slots be good for MLB business? I don't think it would be. MLB will not make changes to promote the use of an 'opener' for that reason.
