  1. Getting one of Lacy or Hancock *should* set up the Jays to have one heck of a rotation in a few years, Pearson, SWR, Manoah, Lacy/Hancock, Ryu if his arm is still attached? But Veen is the lower risk (not a pitcher) and higher reward pick, IMO.
  2. BA had a blurb on recent signings from non-traditional countries. BJ content: NETHERLANDS Sem Robberse, RHP, Blue Jays: Robberse is one of the more promising, deep-sleeper international pitching prospects signed over the past year. A $125,000 signing last year in June, Robberse pitched well after reporting to the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League, where he posted an ERA of 0.87 in 10.1 innings with a 9-to-0 strikeout-to-walk mark. His velocity has grown from reaching 88 mph before signing to 90 mph by the time he arrived in the United States and then 93 mph in the GCL. Adding 20 pounds to get to 6-foot-1, 180 pounds has helped, and there should be more velocity coming given his physical projection and loose, easy mechanics with minimal effort. Robberse's athleticism helps him repeat his delivery and throw strikes, mixing a four-seam fastball, a two-seamer and a breaking ball that's a slightly above-average pitch at its best. Jiorgeny Casimiri, RHP, Blue Jays: The Blue Jays signed a second pitcher from the Netherlands in June, giving Casimiri $225,000. He's 6-foot-1, 160 pounds at 18 and throws strikes with a fastball that touches the low 90s and a slider that's a potentially average pitch. Casimiri also pitched in the GCL after signing, posting a 2.57 ERA in 14 innings with 13 strikeouts and two walks.
  3. Longenhagen's update has Veen at #5. Has also moved Heston Kjerstad up significantly. Dillon Dingler occupies the Jays #42 pick slot, that may excite some of you. https://www.fangraphs.com/prospects/the-board/2020-mlb-draft/summary?sort=-1,1&type=0
  4. We will see a rise in independent leagues where the Kevin Pillar's of the world can go. Guys from independent league sometimes make the jump over to MiLB and MLB. Some of the guys that are bypassed will make their way to baseball leagues in other countries to continue the dream. This could actually help grow the game elsewhere.
  5. pitching depth, not a core piece has a chance to eek out a MLB career as a swingman type
  6. I'm not. Stop being so sensitive.
  7. Eat a bag of dicks. Everyone has a different valuation. CBS dynasty has Bell at 53, Biggio at 101. ESPN Bell @ 64, Biggio @136. Rotoballer Bell @ 20, Biggio @ 59. Dynastyguru Bell @ 57, Biggio @ 141. Sporting News Bell @ 68, Biggio @ 123. I rest my case.
  8. Eat a bag of dicks. Everyone has a different valuation.
  9. 2B/CF possible but not enough to exceed the Bell power production.
  10. There is no f'ing way Biggio > Josh Bell in dynasty. Age difference, 27 to 25 is nothing. I'll take the 30 - 40 HR and RBI.
  11. I would abandon that list for any decisions, Connor.
  12. Terrible f'ing list. Like, as an example, it has Orelvis higher ranked than Brendan McKay and Sixto. LOL No slight to Orelvis, he is a great prospect, but geez. edit - and Ian Anderson, Skubal, and Brandon Marsh.
  13. That's BBDL. Gilbert for Cutch is on my mind, but expect can do better.
  14. Franco for T-Swag the worst I've seen. Keep an eye on your co-manager.
  15. You could say the risk in drafting a pitcher is perceived as higher this year given that they haven't played anywhere near enough to mitigate health concerns (Hancock). Can definitely see Jays drafting Veen even if Hancock available, regardless of slot value strategies.
  16. That's one draft lol What's your answer to the question I posed? Lacy / Hancock or Veen / Mitchell?
  17. Am I the only one with serious misgivings of taking a pitcher with a top pick? Unless a pitcher is considered a generational talent, I'd go with a bat. If Lacy or Hancock are available at #5, would you take one them or go with Veen or Mitchell?
  18. One of my favourite early Jays, along with Upshaw. How are things with you and the DR, Ang?
  19. So they are getting Trump stimulus money.
  20. Was looking to see how a deal could work. Biggio and a pitching upgrade might get it done. Still thinking on it
  21. are you willing to overpay for Josh Bell
  22. Trying to bring Gruber back
