    Every team ends up playing crap players more than they wanted. Jays went into this season expecting Biggio to be healthy and have more of a role than he has so far, which is the only reason Tapia and Zimmer got the time they did. Now that Biggio is performing to his capability again, those guys can go back to being the role players they are, and probably at least one of them DFA'ed when the Jays bring in an upgrade a little further down the road.

    Weird sequence. Goes on IL, comes back, immediately back on IL with a report he needs a loose body removed from his elbow. Now TJS. I expect this means Poche is the primary save collector now.

    So with bad drafting the Rays have essentially stayed competitive by trading MLB players, before they get expensive, for other team's prospects

    A lot of credit needs to go to the player development side. These guys are pretty raw when they sign.

    Matt Boyd would be relatively cheap but could be very effective in a Stripling type of role

    Yes, in theory one can find equitable value deals for all 3. The problem is the deal also has to match the Jays needs. So if the Jays are seeking an SP and a high leverage RP, for example, that narrows down the potential trading partners and the possible deals that can be made. Theory is fine, in practice somewhat more difficult.

    They could try, but if they can't, and the best deal on the table is for Kirk, you make that deal.

    As I said those are deals out of my ass. No one should be saying keep Kirk and Moreno, trade Jansen. Or trade Moreno. Who gets traded depends on what other teams offer? Its an awesome situation where at a position of need the Jays can make any of the three available for the right return.

    Jansen for Benintendi and some low level prospect Or Kirk for Logan Gilbert What do you like? These are deals out of my ass, just pointing out the ridiculousness of picking one of the three to trade. You make the trade that returns the most value.

    It's a good risk to take, if the intent is in fact to showcase for trade discussion purposes.
