  1. Michael Harris III 4-4 with double and homer tonight. Braves have struck gold.
  2. Casuals will eat it up. People like BTS will shed a few.
  3. Not sure this is the year to go all in. With new playoff format, it's a seller's market. Agree with the so called sheriff though. Trading for a player with control that plays position of need is always a good move.
  4. 4-6, 3 HR and a walk yesterday, K rate still high at 31% though
  5. More Ross trades than not have been a net positive to the Jays.
  6. Don't be sleeping on the 6'7" Elly De La Cruz. 20 yrs old, 15 HR and 25 SB in 262 HiA ABs. Will probably be elevated to AA within a month.
  7. Mazara 3-4 Breakout a long time in coming, happy to see it
  8. Really the only weakness coming into the season was pitching depth, but there was an expectation in season additions would be made, which is still likely. I think there was an expectation Pearson would be a contributor, also. What has happened so far is essentially statistical noise. More players are underperforming projections than are not. Which in theory at least, mean the 2nd half will yield better results.
  9. I find the trashing of the FO to be a joke. So the Jays are currently in a bit of a funk. Come playoff time things might be different. When this season started everyone was excited about the team the FO put together, FFS.
  10. Julio Rodriguez, OF, Mariners – Rodriguez did more than just enhance his American League Rookie of the Year candidacy on Monday. He made MLB history. Rodriguez launched a home run into the top deck of the Western Metal Supply Co. Building in the Mariners 8-2 win over the Padres. The two-run blast off of Sean Manaea traveled 429 feet and gave Rodriguez 15 home runs on the season. That number is particularly important. With the blast, Rodriguez reached 15 home runs and 20 stolen bases in his first 81 games, becoming the fastest player in MLB history to reach those numbers. 30/30 season by a rookie incoming
  11. I would make that deal. Moreno power is middling. He'll be a good OBP, excellent fielding catcher. Omar Narvaez with better D.
  12. Read the other day that Miami is talking trade, Lopez and Cabrera. Jays match up as a potential trade partner.
  13. Your position is no different than complaining about Tapia sitting after going 3/4 with a homer the game before. Again, Castillo is a replacement level player. The difference in win probability between Castillo starting and Hatch starting is negligible.
  14. then you don't understand baseball 4 innings, lol
  15. If he didn't break his ankle he's likely neck and neck with J-Rod for ROY.
  16. And so he was. So there are other reasons. In any event 8.1 innings of MLB service by Castillo, where he enjoyed a .211 BABIP, is pretty meaningless. He's projected to be a replacement level reliever. In other words, like Goins, he's not worth arguing over.
  17. I can think of various reasons, and I'm sure Atkins and Co. based the decision on way more information we have. Ultimately, the difference in win probability between Castillo starting or Hatch starting is probably so small that there is more value having Castillo available out of the bullpen for the next 5 games.
  18. Most MLB teams have pitching depth issues - pitchers suck and pitchers get hurt. It's a problem every year. AA's teams generally had poor pitching depth, so did Ricciardi's. 2015, a contending year, AA had shitballers like Bo Schultz, Felix Doubront, the corpse of Jeff Francis, Todd Redmond, Scott Copeland, Chad Jenkins, Andrew Albers, Phil Coke.
  19. When the Jays win and Biggio is doing well, folks need something else to bitch and argue about
  20. There are culture wars going on, mate.
  21. No one cares about Merry Xmas. Unless its within an institution funded by taxpayers of diverse ethnicity, religion, etc. There, keep it secular.
